We had a deeply disappointing experience at Hilton Rome EUR La Lama involving serious damage to our professional electronic equipment after our luggage was handled by hotel staff.
The hotel itself may appear modern and upscale, but our experience after the incident was unacceptable. We discovered the damage after the luggage handling, reported it, and provided documentation, including photos/videos and metadata showing the timing of discovery. The damaged equipment was not casual personal property; it was work equipment that directly affected our ability to operate our business while traveling.
Rather than resolving the issue in a professional and guest-focused way, the matter was routed through Zürich, the insurer, and the claim was later denied. Their position was essentially that they could not prove the damage happened at the hotel. We strongly disagree and believe the evidence we provided was not fairly addressed.
The part that bothers us most is the lack of accountability. A hotel operating under the Hilton brand should have a serious process for handling guest property, preserving evidence, investigating luggage incidents, and treating guests fairly when expensive belongings are damaged. Instead, we experienced delay, denial, and a response that felt dismissive.
Travelers should be very cautious if bringing laptops, monitors, camera gear, medical equipment, or other valuable items to this hotel. Based on our experience, if something happens to your property after hotel staff handles it, you may be left fighting with the hotel and insurer rather than receiving a fair resolution.
We expected much better from Hilton. This experience has seriously damaged our trust in the brand.
I DISPENSER DEL BAGNO SCHIUMA ERANO VUOTI
I am writing to share my disappointment regarding our recent stay at your hotel in Rome. As a family who specifically chose Hilton because of its reputation for excellent hospitality and service, our experience unfortunately fell far below our expectations.
Before our arrival, we made two very clear requests. Firstly, we requested a room with a bathtub, as we are travelling with two young children and a bath is an important part of their daily routine. Secondly, we booked two rooms and specifically requested that they be connected or at the very least located next to each other.
Upon arrival, neither request had been accommodated. Not only was there no bathtub in our room, but our two rooms were also separated. As a family travelling with small children, having two separate rooms on different locations makes very little sense. We had to insist before an alternative was offered and the rooms were eventually connected. This was stressful and unnecessary, especially considering these requests had been communicated well in advance.
Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of several disappointing experiences.
After checking in, we asked about the laundry service. We were assured that our clothes could easily be washed and that, if we handed them in before midday, they would be returned later that day. Instead, at approximately 3:30 PM, our clothing was returned folded, wrapped in plastic, and completely unwashed. To make matters worse, we were presented with a bill of €96 for a service that had not been carried out.
When we pointed this out, the staff acknowledged the mistake and said they would “see what they could do.” Our clothes were collected again and only returned much later that evening after finally being washed. While the issue was eventually corrected, it caused considerable inconvenience and wasted a large part of our day.
Throughout our stay, there were also continuous problems with the elevators.

Curatenia in camera se facea superficial! Nu se lua gunoiul extra lasat de la cumparaturi in fiecare zi, se putea face mai bine curat in camera la nivel de Hilton !

Tre giorni meravigliosi in una nuova e bella realtà della Capitale. Eccellenza in ogni settore. Prima colazione completa e vastissima, molto simile alla mia abituale. Ristorante ottimo. Molto professionale, ben formato, giovane e motivato l’intero personale di sala, ottimi cucina e chef, ricevimento, sicurezza, manutenzioni, bar e ristorazione, pulizia camere, con attenzione massima a ogni necessità dell’ospite. Controlli giusti per gli ingressi di chi sarebbe venuto a trovarmi, con esigenza di comunicazione preventiva: una garanzia per chi soggiorna.
Non tutti gli Hilton sono a livelli così alti.
Va tenuto conto anche dell’alto indice di difficoltà, enorme struttura, numeri alti: occorre essere particolarmente abili a sostenere questo. Un sincero plauso a tutti.
