Practical stay, no frills
Pros:

Location, nice reception and pre arrival information was quick and good. Cooked breakfast was nice.

Cons:

Bed, sheets, pillows not good and no atmosphere in long/bar or dining room, the bare tables and breakfast buffet felt mean.

Pros:

The breakfast was good ,cooked to order & was very good

Cons:

The afternoon bar staff were not very happy , the Guinness was tangy and didn't improve after mentioned to the staff .the food was awful at the tea time , could only eat in the bar as the main room occupied with a wedding

Bathroom was too small for me as I was slouching down every time I jumped in the shower, breakfast was shocking.

Cons:

Young kid in the breakfast dining area, told him that I would like an English breakfast, written it down on his notepad but when he brought my breakfast he didn’t bring any eggs which was annoying as I specifically told him everything I wanted on my breakfast which I happily payed for.

Pleasant would stay again.
Pros:

Wheelchair accessible, breakfast very nice , staff very helpful.

Cons:

Very popular wedding/ funeral venue unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked for private functions

The best of a small number of choices in the area - but eat offsite.
Pros:

This is not a prestige area for hotels in general, but this one had reliable car parking so I booked Standard Room and Breakfast. Duty Manager and all staff very pleasant so I also had a bar snack (sandwich and chips) and evening dinner (sea bass). Grounds and Dining Room are stylish and appear recently spruced up in comparison with the areas where the Rooms are. Connection to the M25 is good.

Cons:

Room was so tiny that there I had to stoop to get through a 9 inch gap between the end of the 4ft 6in wide bed, and the wall plus the overhang of the TV set on the same wall to reach the window curtains. The worst point was that the Bar and the area outside it smelled strongly of foul drains during my visit - and the morning after my eating I had a stomach upset that lasted for two days.

Location, cleanliness, comfort and friend staff make this my hotel of choice in the area
Pros:

This isn't my first stay so I was comfortable with the Breakfast process and where everything was

Cons:

The time element, on both mornings it took ages for someone to come and take our orders and only happened after being prompted, the yogurts had ran out and hadn't been topped up. There appeared to be adequate staff working so that wasn't the reason.

Nice and tidy room
Pros:

The room was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful and pleasant.

Cons:

The potholes in the exit road and the fact that you have to go into the village and at the roundabout come all the way back to enter the hotel.

Friendly staff. Slow service in the restaurant.
Pros:

The staff were helpful and engaging.
The breakfast (albeit delayed - see below), was freshly cooked and piping hot.

Cons:

At dinner, and again at breakfast, there was an exceptionally long delay - of the order of 30-40 minutes - between ordering and service.
The shower basin was a hazard. Its surface was extremely slippery. A safety hand rail was sited in the part of the walk-in shower that wasn't under the shower head. A rubber mat or similar is urgently needed to avoid accident - especially with older guests.
