Spacious double room with very comfortable bed and nice, sturdy furniture. Great shower pressure and easily adjustable controls. Nice view from room and under the (welcome) shade of trees in the exceptional heat. Lovely breakfast, both cooked and continental, good selection of foods. Bacon cooked really well. Pool area was quiet and a really peaceful, calm environment. Nice to swim. Changing area no problems. Sauna and steam room nice. Well stocked gym, quiet and you feel inconspicuous, in a good way. Staff pleasant and helpful throughout the hotel. Plenty of parking. Well positioned for Usk town in one direction and Roman ruins in Caerleon in the other direction with plenty of history. Caerleon is a must visit (but I am a local so....) for the museum, barracks, baths and amphitheatre (see pics) and the Ffwrwm on High Street. Great grounds for tennis and croquet (didn't have time unfortunately). Nice bar and restaurant areas. We were able to borrow an ice bucket from the bar to keep our water bottles cold in our room. Room was clean (all except corners of the wardrobe interior). Good housekeeping service but they didn't come back one day when initially we were getting ready to go out and we had 'do not disturb' on the door. When we went out we changed the sign to 'please make up our room' but they didn't. Maybe it's a timing thing.
Could do with a main ceiling light other than lamps. Housekeeping didn't shut our door securely one day and we came back to find it ajar, luckily nobody had seen/entered. Towel rail fell off the wall so we left it off, even though it would reattach for aesthetics but was not secure. Housekeeping reattached it but the problem wasn't fixed and it kept falling off, a MINOR issue though. Hot tub was out of order for duration of the stay, which we were really looking forward to. Drinks are expensive. Service between the front desk and bar was sometimes hit and miss, with no bell to attract attention, you need to walk through the hotel to find someone. Breakfast did not seem to be restocked when it ran low, which was frustrating if you didn't want to get up too early. If breakfast runs until 10am, it should all be available until 10am. We were getting there at 9 so didn't think it wasn't late. Having said this, the food was lovely.
Lovely hotel, very peaceful setting. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Swimming pool and gym were great and the food was good.
A very small complaint is that having checked that there would be a fan in the room and having been told all rooms had fans, we arrived to find no fan! However the receptionist sorted this quickly for us. Please also note that it says there are hairdryers in the room, there are not and none available.
Location, great building, good facilities (gym, pool etc)
Food was very average and overpriced, not enough staff and not attentive during dinner. Starters came with the main, no water, nobody asked if we'd like anymore drinks, music turned off halfway through the meal, steak overlooked. Room too bright in the morning, no blackout curtains or blinds, small fan provided. Slow service. Had to ask for items that ran out at breaking. Not a great experience. I put this down to poor investment, not enough staff or staff that wanted to be there. Oh also no shower curtain in the bathroom, shower sprayed everywhere meaning you had to lie down in the bath.
Stayed in the cottages. Room was lovely & cottage had kitchen facilities which was a nice unexpected bonus. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but other than that I really enjoyed my stay here. Leisure facilities were super & staff were very friendly & helpful. Set in a beautiful location, really enjoyed the peace & quiet

The Staff were Excellent Friendly and i Booked A Massage and The Young Lady Shikra Was excellent so friendly and confident in her job A real Credit to the company.

The whole place looks very tired needs some money spending on bedrooms and spa facilities. The grounds are well kept and nice walk around.

Bit short staffed, but those available went above and beyond to be helpful. Top score for staff definitely. Very quiet, not many guests staying Sunday.
It’s really tired. Bit falling apart at seems. Rooms perfectly clean, but smells of damp even during a drought. Old, poorly located power sockets. Weak TV signal. Spa Jacuzzi not working. But for price we paid not complaining.
We were upgraded to a fantastic suite as our room was not as described. Food was delicious, the portions decent and good value. The pool could have been amazing with just a little update. The 2 people on reception i saw the evening we checked in were wonderful and very helpful.
The pool was dirty and so were the changing facilities. The toiletries provided were disappointing. The bar staff kept disappearing and I was left waiting to pay for a while.

Very well worn in all dept, one member of staff seemed to be doing 5 jobs, limited menu but lots not available.
Beds hard, jacuzzi not working and all looked dated and a 5 m gapping hole in the ceiling of the swimming pool.
Not availability for any of the treatments
Very quiet location. Large room. Comfortable bed. Dinner was very good. Breakfast was tasty and hot.
Unfortunately the bathroom needed a good scrub. The floor and skirting were disgusting. Apart from that everything else was excellent.
