Pros:

Liked the country setting and friendly staff.
Made up for the fact that the staff hadn't been properly trained

Cons:

Food terrible and not much to offer..
Breakfast very slow.
Don't know if they were cleaning the carpet or had been a leak but smelt mouldy.they were in the process of drying it out..

Lovely food and nice to have a swim, just needs a lot of upgrades to be an excellent place to stay.

If money is spent on this place it could be spectacular!
Pros:

Location and setting. The lady manager was exceptional.

Cons:

The owner has not spent any money on it for years and made loads of broken promises. The spa and pool were smelly and the ceiling was broken.

The hotel and spa is in need of urgent update and repairs
Pros:

The breakfast was nice but when i got to the main breakfast they had run out of bacon/sausage and staff nowhere to be seen.
The room was very roomy but very tired and smelt of damp mould on the silicone around the bath and skirting board windows not functioning (broken hinge)
Bar the beer was off and they seem reluctant to change the barrel so we left and did not stop for evening meal.

Cons:

Changing rooms in the spa the light did not work and i had to use my phone light to get changed the floor in the swimming area felt unclean and greasy with meal left overs still on tables and wet napkins on the floor.

Cons:

Restaurant was not open for evening meal. Bar food not good. We had to move rooms on arriving as when turned on tap in bathroom sewerage smell very strong. Swimming pool unable to provide locker keys so items not secure. Generally hotel needs a lot of TLC

The stay was fine - nothing special, a shame for the lack of warning about immunities.
Pros:

Lovely grounds and outside space! The room was really big and comfortably fit the 3 of us. The food was tasty although on the expensive side it was worth the money.

Cons:

We were not informed ahead of our arrival that the jacuzzi was closed for maintenance which was a shame as having the use of the hot tub was the reason we booked this hotel over others. The bathroom was dated and falling apart with cobwebs mold and rust preventing us from opening the bathroom window. The floor especially in the bar area was incredibly sticky with sticky tables which seems an oversight considering the price and amount of staff around. We were also disappointed to have waited for a while when attending breakfast due to the fact that we had to inform the staff of our child’s allergies but there was no one to be seen in the morning so had to go searching for someone to assist us.

Great for a get away with a spa and gym at a very competitive price.
Pros:

It’s remote location, spa and gym facilities.
Room was very large and good.

Cons:

It is 3 stars and you can see why in many areas…it is good, but not excellent…
It could be upgraded in many simple areas to make it quality and excellent, but sadly isn’t.
It’s OK and suits its purpose at that price.

Upgraded room expectancy
Pros:

The period features of the old property was wonderful, and the facilities on offer was well worth the money paid just a shame we didn't know about the jacuzzi working before or on arrival, as the wife has fibromyalgia and i booked hoping the jacuzzi would take her aches and pains away, but apart from that it was a lovely stay and we did upgrade our room to a bigger suite.

Cons:

I upgraded our room to a bigger one and all the upgraded rooms had a few individual pictures that was nice but our particular upgrade only showed 2 pictures of 2 different rooms that I thought I was getting one of the 2 but it was a completely different room advertised that we were both underwhelmed as we upgraded, no shower handle to hold the shower or even a curtain or screen to stop water flooding the bathroom floor😤. Also just as going forward smart TVs would be welcomed as we couldn't even get on netflix or other streaming devices to chil in evening and unwind. I also enquired about spar treatments and it took to long for prices and information to get back to me as I asked at reception but no one was around at the time so we didn't have anything as we only stayed one night, I did email and text directly before arrival and I received the following morning on departure.. just something to look into .. pleasant enough stay none the less
