I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the wonderful hotel staff. A special thank you goes to the grey-haired lady whom I believe is the breakfast supervisor. She was exceptionally kind, professional, attentive, and made every morning a pleasure. I would also like to thank Barbara from the Concierge team for her outstanding assistance, warmth, and professionalism. They both truly made a positive difference to our stay.
The stay was overall acceptable, but there are a few areas that need improvement. The rooms have a significant humidity problem, which causes an unpleasant musty smell and affects the overall comfort of the stay. In addition, the breakfast was very limited, with a poor selection of food and little variety. I hope the management addresses these issues, as the hotel has the potential to offer a much better guest experience.
I would like to give a shout out to Mickael who was our server at Scalini, the main restaurant at the JW Marriott Cannes. I am a physician from Colorado, US and he treated my 14 yo Daughyer and I like we were celebrities and like we were his only patrons. Every detail was attended to impeccably. The food was superb and the service was outstanding. We are making reservations for more meals here! I can offer my highest commendations for the Scalini restaurant and for Mickeael as a server!

Great location--easy access to all
I recently stayed at JW Marriott Cannes and would like to express my disappointment regarding my experience.
Before my stay, I had read many positive reviews praising your staff, and I would like to confirm that this was indeed my experience as well. The team was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my visit.
However, I specifically chose JW Marriott Cannes for what was intended to be a romantic weekend, largely because of the hotel’s pool facilities and direct access to the beach and beach bar. Upon arrival, I was informed that both the pool and the beach facilities were unavailable due to the Cannes Lions Festival.
This came as a complete surprise and was extremely disappointing. Had I been informed of these closures prior to my arrival or at the time of booking, I would certainly have selected another hotel. Given that I was paying approximately €1,000 per night, I believe it is reasonable to expect that major facility closures are clearly communicated to guests in advance. Also, it was like a construction site!
To make matters worse, as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, I had hoped that some effort would be made to enhance our stay despite the unavailable facilities. I could see room availability on the website, yet no room upgrade was offered.
While the staff were excellent, the overall experience fell far short of expectations due to the lack of transparency regarding the facility closures and the absence of any meaningful recognition of my loyalty status. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly impacted my perception of the property, and I do not see myself returning in the future.
I would like to know why these closures were not CLEARLY communicated in advance and what steps you feel are appropriate to address the disappointment caused.
Beach chairs + towels are NOT included here folks, do not trust the website or booking platforms. It’s $70+ to rent a chair and towels. Other option is the rooftop pool which has 12 chairs, no service, and looks like a deserted wasteland with a decent view. Front desk called it “relaxing, with not too many people”.

We waren eerder gast in het hotel , maar de prachtige renovatie was geweldig, zeer mooie kamers en heerlijke bedden !

There are certain baseline expectations when you stay at a 5 star resort and sadly I can confirm that they were not met on our trip to the JW Cannes.
The air conditioning went out for an entire night — a full hotel outage. On the Mediterranean, in peak season, in a room you're paying a significant premium for, this is simply not acceptable.
On a separate occasion, room service staff left our balcony door open for hours while we were out — we returned to a room full of insects and roughly €1,000 of wine damaged by heat. The balcony door also did not lock btw.
The bigger structural issue that you need to be aware of before going is the beach. The JW does not come with beach access included. Their beach club charges separately per sun bed, at prices worse than the renowned Carleton or Hyde Beach which offer a far better experience for less money. The JW pool is a joke and doesn't compensate for any of this (it's small, fenced, and feels entirely out of place at a property of this supposed caliber - it's worse than a kiddy pool in a gated Florida community).
When we raised all of this with the property manager, the resolution offered was a points compensation worth less than a single standard night at this hotel. Not a partial refund, not a gesture proportionate to multiple documented failures — just a token that made clear that working it out through the proper channels was a waste of time - don't waste your breath.
The location is genuinely unbeatable. The hotel and management behind it is not.
