wifi connection, unstable and slow
Location perfect right by Shan lake. Lovely view from bedroom window and comfortable room and very good bathroom
Breakfast terrible - buffet style but “hot” food cold. Also running out of orange juice and fruit and not replenished timely. Staff nonchalant and didn’t seem to care when pointed out. Too busy, not enough tables and chairs for volume of guests and lady checking you in to breakfast rude. Lifts not up to scratch. Only 3 for size of hotel not enough, if on high floor a lot of time wasted waiting for lift
The location is excellent with a street running the left side of the hotel (as you exit) with several restaurants and even an Irish bar. The hotel is a cross the road from the lake with the sun and moon pagoda and the various businesses that set themselves up in the evening along the lake shore.
The is a well maintained property and although a little dated in some elements. I personally hate a bath with a shower and shower curtains. But other than that no complaints. The breakfast was the standard western and Chinese mix although I’d say they did it better than most with good stoke levels maintained even in busy times. Although a little hard to find the bar was a great find. Tucked in the far corner of the atrium on level 2 you could be forgiven for thinking at first glance everything is closed. But it’s open til 11 and the staff were great.
Looks impressive, lots of "bling" and big spaces. So many spaces hardly utilised. Big area for seating that only had sofas for about 12 people. Impressive lifts.
Good sized room and luckily they had put the aircon on for our group.
Whilst there is a gym, I found all the treadmills switched on (5 or 6) but none of the bikes (2) or even the single rowing machine.
You have to have a bathing cap for the swimming pool even males unless they are bald. I didn't bother. They were really precious about the pool towels which led to an amusing incident where another of our group wasn't allowed to leave as she was mistaken for my partner who did have a towel.
Breakfast was busy in a large dining room but had plenty of everything.
This hotel is huge and very well located in the centre of Guilin, just across from the lake. It has an impressive atrium with glass pod lifts accessing floors 2 and up. We had two separate stays in the hotel - the first time in a very tired room with a window looking out onto a black wall. The second time we were given an amazing, newly renovated bedroom, with an in-room egg bath, separate shower cubicle and ‘intelligent’ toilet. Would definitely recommend requesting or paying for an upgrade. Also take swim wear - the hotel has a wonderful swimming pool complex (swimming caps compulsory). Nice spa, with an excellent range of well priced massages. Breakfast is very good, with lots of choice for western preferences. Don’t miss the 10 minute waterfall show at 8.30pm every evening.
The property looks nice. The interior of the hotel room looks nice n comfortable. The housekeeping was good n every day the housekeeper would tidy n replenish n hv clean towels everyday. That was a good stay.
Great spa
Totally overcrowded breakfast buffet - gave up in the end
Very central, close to attractions
Good breakfast and friendly staff
Issues with air con in the room but quickly resolved
La situación y la comodidad.
The location was excellent! Very close to the night market and the popular city attractions.
The hotel was very tired looking and dated. We were really surprised when we arrived to see the condition of the hotel and our room. It was all very old… and not quite as described
The good thing is that the hotel is right next to the river and you are in the city center within a few minutes. You can stroll around the river in the evening.
The location is very strategic. Next to the hotel are many shops and restaurants and the night market has lots of stuff
Nothing
The location
Lifts, only three for hundreds of people
Really well located and easy to walk around nearby markets and lake area. The rooms were clean and spacious.
Rooms are a little dated and the buffet breakfast was a bit disorganised. But staff were generally helpful and friendly.
Location was excellent. Close to markets and Shanhu Lake
Room smelt of cigarettes
