The room really wasn’t a studio
I stayed at this property two years ago and had a wonderful experience, which prompted me to book a return stay a full year in advance. Sadly, this recent visit was a complete disappointment.
After driving for 8 hours with kids, we expected a smooth check-in, but the quality of service has severely plummeted. Throughout our week-long stay, we were completely unimpressed.
My frustration began immediately upon checking in. Since I booked a year in advance, I called four separate times over the year to double-check that our special requests were properly logged. I had requested a north-end facing room, on level 7 or above, with a shower/tub combo for the children. Every single time I called, guest services assured me it was noted.
Upon arrival, I was told there were absolutely no requests on my file. To make matters worse, the front desk staff lacked basic courtesy, was dismissive and had a poor understanding of the property layout. They don't even acknowledge you as you walk into the building. We found only one guest service clerk who was polite and knowledgeable, named Riley.
Instead of our requested higher floor room, we were assigned a 4th-floor room right next to the trash chute. The room itself was in terrible condition: the kitchen cabinets had severe, visible water damage from the floor up, and the bathroom shower handle fell completely off the moment we arrived. When I asked the assistant manager to switch rooms, I was flatly told nothing was available and to wait 20 minutes for someone to fix the shower handle. After an 8-hour drive, the last thing we wanted to do was wait around, but we were forced to wait another 20 minutes in the car just for maintenance to fix the shower handle.
The property-wide service was equally abysmal. The elevators were a nightmare, taking over 45 minutes on certain days. It was so bad that most days we were forced to take the stairs to and from our 4th-floor room just to get anywhere. Getting fresh towels also took hours; on one occasion, we were left waiting for over two hours after requesting replacements, and they still never arrived.
To top it all off, nobody even bothered to ask how our stay was during checkout. For the substantial amount of money spent on a week-long stay, this level of service is completely unacceptable. What used to be a great resort has turned into a poorly managed property with dismissive staff, zero internal communication, and neglected rooms. I am incredibly disappointed and will not be returning.
