Everything was great, the breakfast was amazing! And we sampled everything.
My friend used the gym which she liked, lots of equipment.
The only thing was the room was very hot, could of used a fan. But other that great stay, and wluld definitely stay again.

Lovely room with a really big bed and very comfortable,loved that shower gel ,shampoo and other products available in full size products and not the silly little things in most hotels, 2 TVs and a lovely small lounge room which was fantastic ,great wardrobe space and shelving for all your luggage.
Hot water could have been better in the shower, felt it was on the cool side , other than that great facilities.
The bar area was ok.
The rooms and overall property are in dire need of maintenance and renovation. Very old and worn, no air con or even ventilation in the rooms to the point I had to sit in the reception in the middle of the night just to breath properly. If your visiting during a heatwave you are in real trouble. Old shabby wardrobes, with doors hanging off, dirty public areas, carpets, doors etc. Basic stuff in the breakfast area missing, white bread, cornflakes, cold milk (warm off milk was readily available), fruit gone off, raw sausages, bacon swimming in grease. Basically un edible. I dont think the place had any maintenance or upkeep since my wedding reception in 1988 ! Best to stay away until new owners and a full refurbishment is carried out.

I liked my room, the parking arrangements and the bar. Plus, everything in my room worked.
It was a sweltering day outside and my room was relentlessly steamy too, which made sleeping difficult. Some previous reviews said the hotel looks a little tired, but I thought it was fine.
Irene was lovely mercure blackrod receptionists lovely ..locks coukd be made safer on bwdroom doors.
Irene and the receptionists were lovely and kind my mother had died i was very distraught and alone, they were lovely.
The staff were really professional and helpful and friendly.

The whole of the hotel really needed some serious maintenance the staff worked wonders considering what they had to work with.
The photos on Booking. Com need to be updated. There is no longer a pool and spa.
The main residents were contractors.

Great venue nice bar clean rooms
Beautiful entrance, room very spacious and lovely and clean. The beds were so soft and comfortable. Added bonus a fan. We booked in for breakfast the day after and the choice of breakfast items was amazing. They had a drink it was green, I think it was lime, kiwi and vegetable, add ice and omg it was good.

Quiet location, disabled parking very close to entrance and there was always a space when I needed it. The rooms are clean and housekeeping is spot on. The staff I met were all doing a great job, friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant is amazing, the fries are a bit special and I highly recommend them.
The wheelchair access path is overgrown with sharp branches overhanging the path. They did cause me some issues being scratched and poked. The wheelchair accessible room door is heavy, it opens into the room. There are no automatic door openers and I needed help twice to hold the door open so I could enter the room. The door entrance is a tight fit for wheels and fingers, made worse by the heavy spring back door.
