Pros:

Teleurstellend omdat we niet goed konden slapen, uiteindelijk boek je daarvoor een hotelovernachting
Pros:

Zeer uitgebreid uitgebreid en verzorgd ontbijt. Alles is aanwezig. Zeer nette en ruime kamers (wel had onze kamer uitzicht op een luchtkoker, we zaten ingesloten tussen 3 hoge grijze muren, geen enkel uitzicht dus). Heel mooie infinity pool op rooftop terras met prachtig uitzicht (maar we kwamen pas om 20 uur in het hotel aan, we wisten niet dat het zwembad dan gesloten wordt, stond niet online). Mooie ruime inkomhal met veel zithoekjes. Mogelijkheid om er 's avonds iets te eten en ook veel leuke eetadresjes in de buurt. Ondanks de drukte op straat was het volledig stil in de kamer. In de straten achter het hotel konden we vlot, gratis en onbeperkt in tijd parkeren.

Cons:

Bij aankomst bleek de temperatuur in de kamer 27°C te bedragen. Hoewel de airconditioning ingeschakeld was, blies deze uitsluitend warme lucht waardoor de kamer helemaal niet afkoelde. Als eerste oplossing werd ons een ventilator aangeboden. Gezien de hoge temperatuur en de omvang van de kamer vonden wij dit geen afdoende oplossing.

Vervolgens ontstond een onaangenaam gesprek met één van de twee aanwezige receptionisten, Andres, in een poging om tot een betere oplossing te komen. Hij leek weinig bereidheid te tonen om verdere actie te ondernemen. Het contacteren van een technieker, die het probleem uiteindelijk niet kon verhelpen, leek voor hem voldoende. De technieker deed volgens ons zijn uiterste best, was heel vriendelijk en discreet, maar kon niet onmiddellijk de oorzaak van het probleem achterhalen.

Pas rond 02.00 uur 's nachts, meer dan een uur nadat wij het probleem hadden gemeld, kregen wij uiteindelijk de mogelijkheid om naar een andere kamer te verhuizen. Deze kamer was bovendien kleiner dan de oorspronkelijk geboekte kamer. Vooraf werd ons gevraagd een document te ondertekenen waarin het incident als afgehandeld werd beschouwd en wij afstand zouden doen van verdere meldingen of klachten. Wij hebben geweigerd dit document te ondertekenen.

Dankzij de hulp van een andere medewerker kon de verhuis uiteindelijk toch doorgaan, ondanks de duidelijke tegenzin van de betrokken receptionist. De volgende ochtend werd het probleem kort besproken met ander personeel aan de receptie en ontvingen wij hiervoor een verontschuldiging.

Hoewel het hotel op zich mooi en verzorgd is, heeft dit incident een grote impact gehad op ons verblijf. Door de langdurige zoektocht naar een oplossing hebben wij uiteindelijk slechts ongeveer vier uur kunnen slapen. Als gevolg daarvan hebben wij ons programma voor de volgende dag moeten inkorten wegens slaaptekort.

Friendly staff but very poor noise isolation and guest selection
Pros:

The staff was very kind and welcoming. Food was good but nothing exceptional, I missed to have more healthy options for breakfast. Room was big and serviced spotlessly every day.

Cons:

First of all: I booked a Superior twin double room and we where placed to the basement of the building where AC did not work and right at the AC exhausters (huge noise and humidity). I complained and was promptly moved to a different bedroom (which kind of make me think the original placement was on purpose). Nonetheless, even after the change of room the level of noise coming from the other rooms was substantial, I could hear all the stomps and the doors being slammed and also the conversations and TV in the adjacent rooms. The minimum I would expect from a hotel is noise isolation and that was far from the case. During our stay there was also a large group (30-40) of teenagers running and screaming around, stopping the lifts turning the visit far from relaxing as I would expect from a hotel spa.

Excellent séjour
Pros:

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Solana Hôtel & Spa.
Très bon emplacement avec plusieurs commerces, bars et restaurants aux alentours.
Très bonne literie, nous avons très bien dormi.
Excellent petit-déjeuner, contrairement à ce que nous avons pu lire, il y a énormément de choix.
Le personnel est très gentil et serviable.
Nous avons eu un problème avec la pression de la douche, celui-ci a été réglé dans l'heure.
Deux très belles piscines en rooftop dont une à débordement réservée aux adultes, ce qui était très appréciable.
Possibilité d'avoir des serviettes pour la piscine.
Possibilité également de se restaurer et boire sur le rooftop à prix démocratiques, et en plus très bon.
Possibilité également d'avoir une place de parking (payant mais à prix correct), ce qui est appréciable étant donné que les places de parking sont parfois compliquées à Malte.

Bref, nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour et si nous devons revenir à Malte, nous savons où loger.

Cons:

Deux petits bémols, qui n'ont pas gâché notre séjour :
- une seule bouteille d'eau à notre arrivée qui n'a jamais été remplacée au cours de notre séjour.
- l'absence d'un étendoir pour sécher nos maillots de bain, serviettes, etc

Pros:

Lovely design. The infinity pool on the roof was amazing, especially as it was just adults and the kids had their own

Cons:

Only negative was that the air conditioning wasn’t good but the hotel sent a fan to my room to solve the issue
