Virgilio is a nice hotel, located 5 minutes walk from the main street and close to the old town and the beach, however it is in a very residential area without any significant views. The hotel is very clean and they provide a wonderful breakfast selection which kept us going all day. The hotel has its own beach club which is a short drive away in the hotel's shuttle bus, or a 10 minute walk along the beach front. The beach club provides an umbrella and two beds, and is served by a bar and a restaurant. We found that, being a bit further away, the beach is nicer and quieter than at the clubs nearer the town. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool or spa facility so can't comment.
In our opinion this is 3-star hotel, not a 4-star as it was advertised (and the promotional photographs are very flattering). There were no tea/coffee-making facilities in the room, the room and bathroom were quite compact and very simply furnished and some of the communal areas were looking a little tired. Having to pay €35 a day (or €20 for half a day) at the beach club seemed expensive, although I don't know what other hotels/clubs charge (there is very little public beach space).
Having said all this, it is still a nice place to stay and generally not bad value for money, and we loved Sperlonga, so we would be happy to return - with more realistic expectations.
It was very tired and photos were misleading and swimming pool was green!
Incredible, kind, helpful staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The rooms were spacious, clean—we appreciated the great showers and AC. Breakfast every day was wonderful. The location couldnt have been more perfect. The shuttle to and from the beach club was timely and friendly and we adored our days at the beach. Wonderful stay!

All front of house staff throughout our stay were very helpful and could not be faulted. Housekeeping staff were also good

Cleanliness, staff and facilities.
The breakfast was great lots of selection and gorgeous freshly squeezed orange juice was a highlight as we didnt get anywhere else in our 2 week trip. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel was close 5 min walk to the beach and town. Rooms clean and comfortable very spacious.
There was a strong floor cleaner like smell coming from our room it smelt like it was coming from the vents. We had mentioned it to staff and they said there was nothing they could do about it. As someone with asthma im sensitive to smells this was the only thing that i didnt like. It was particularly noticeable when we would leave the room and come back in. It was just an overp3oweing smell.
