Pleasant stay with great service
Pros:

We stayed here before and after a short coach tour of Wales, and the hotel kindly stored our baggage while we were on tour. Our room was very comfortable, and the reception staff were friendly and efficient. We dined in the attached Kiln restaurant and enjoyed pleasant meals with excellent service from Niko and his friendly assistant.

4.5⭐ Stay: Clean, Comfortable & Great Service
Pros:

Location was excellent — only about a 10-minute walk from the station, very convenient.
Room was comfortable and clean. No view, but that didn’t matter for a one-night stay.
Slept like a log and woke up feeling really refreshed.
Room was in good condition overall, though the bathroom was quite small — fine for a short stay.
Only slight downside was the smell of the cleaning products, which I wasn’t too keen on.
The standout was the reception team — extremely helpful and welcoming.
Breakfast was also a highlight: great staff and lots of choice, including a delicious omelette.

Overall:
I’d rate it 4.5 rather than 5.

Would definitely stay again.

Pros:

Good location between Train station and city centre, helpful staff

Cons:

No shelf in bathroom for toiletries, another grab handle by the shower exit would be safer
Awkward tea making facilities tucked away in a drawer

Cons:

Have been staying there for a number of years. Room was a little tired and bath shower screen simply didn’t work. Room smelt damp.

Comfortable stay near the station for a 2 night break to go on the Royal Duchy steam train
Pros:

Well located a short easy walk from Bristol Templemeads and the vibrant, interesting regenerated old harbour area for evening meal and stroll.
Comfortable bed, excellent efficient large walk in shower, good breakfast.
We reported an issue to the friendly young man on reception Monday morning and he was very responsive having the authority to sort it out to our satisfaction without hesitation.

Cons:

Our room was not serviced during our 2 night stay, reported to reception who agreed this was not their usual standard and quickly apologised and offered a complimentary breakfast.

Ok minus
Pros:

Hotel location.

Cons:

Found the breakfast a bit overpriced. Fairly standard.
Reasonable choice but had to request items which should have been available.
Didn't have breakfast on days 2 and 3 because the coffee was so poor.
The hotel vibe was very much that of a business facility. Eg Interviews (loudly) taking place in the guests lounge area.
Room looked tired eg curtains in poor quality not hung properly
The available robes would barely fit a child, although they were labelled large. I'm not that big.
My main gripe refers to the screen in the foyer promoting Uber taxis for guests. I used this, thinking I would pay U er prices. I was charged £29. My so arranged the taxi back, same journey but via the app and it cost £11. Very angry re that
