Good hotel as a touring base for a couple of days. Showing its age but was good value and friendly.
Pros:

Staff friendly, ease of parking, breakfast was fine, room spacious, hotel generally quiet - no noisy neighbours! Bed very comfortable.

Cons:

The room was "tired" . Bathroom needed modernised and a new toilet seat! TV remote control worn out.
Main door and Bar was supposed to be open to 10pm, but whenever I got back circa 9:30 pm I had to use key code and bar was in darkness. I guess too quiet to have staff on... BUT it was fine as no real need for the bar!

Comfortable stay in a lovely old building which had a lot of charm. Food was very good and all staff were very welcoming
Pros:

Old but charming with lots of interesting contents. Restaurant food was very good both at dinner and at breakfast.

Cons:

A little run down, but this added to the charm!

Dog friendly Hotel, with friendly staff
Pros:

Staff were friendly and helpful. Happy to have our dogs there. Chef stayed on to cook our meal. Room was clean and spacious

Cons:

The heating didn’t work in our room, but they did find a portable heater for us to use. Hotel is a bit tired, could do with a make over. No sound proofing so we could hear people moving about upstairs

Prima voor op doorreis
Pros:

Grote ruime kamer. We hebben in de avond pizza gegeten en dat was prima. Het is een echt victoriaans huis. Wel oud en gedateerd maar netjes.

Pros:

Our room & beds were comfortable but in need of updating, especially the bathroom. All facilities were provided for. The evening meal & breakfast were very good. Staff were very friendly and efficient.

Cons:

The hotel is very much in need of updating, looked very tired indeed. Gardens looked a bit neglected.
On our trip we have stayed in better places that have been lower priced.

Hotel used for a short stay break to attend an event in Tain and as base for revisiting Sutherland.
Pros:

Spacious room with comfortable bed.
Nice breakfast, good start to the day.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Good location base for attending “event” in Tain and as a base for onward exploration of Sutherland.

Cons:

Hotel looks tired, disappointing as it could be beautiful.
Shower over bath not the best, although functional.
