Unexpected Concert Reschedule Left Us Paying for an Unused Hotel Room
Pros:

We had a room booked from May 23 to 24, 2026, and the only reason for our stay was that we had tickets to the Bruno Mars concert at Rogers Stadium on May 23. We travelled from Ottawa to Toronto by train, and then took the subway toward the hotel. While we were on the subway, at around 2:30 PM on May 23, we received an email informing us that the concert had been rescheduled to May 31 due to weather.

As soon as we found out, we called the hotel to ask if we could cancel the room, since the entire purpose of our trip was no longer happening. We understand the 24‑hour cancellation policy, but in this case we were only notified of the change a few hours before check‑in, and the situation was completely outside of our control.

Despite explaining this, the hotel declined to cancel the reservation and charged us the full amount. Given the circumstances, we truly feel the room should have been cancelled without penalty, as we had no choice in the matter and no reason to stay in Toronto that night.

Pros:

L’emplacement

Cons:

C’est un hôtel non fumeur et ça sentait la cigarette. Dans les fenêtre il n’y avait pas de rideau pour couper la lumière. Lors de notre check out nous avons discuter avec l’agent et il n’a rien prit en considération. Nous sommes partie sans nous donner raison.
