Staff with .manners
Very hot day, noA/C working in the room, lift is terrible .
Its just an averge hotel, very poor facilities, very expensive.
Perfect location for Cardiff castle events
Room was clean, bed was comfy, staff friendly and helpful.
Aircon nor working.
We arrived after a very long and very hot car journey, the air conditioning in our room was great!
Check-in was quick and friendly. Bar and lobby area was clean, bright and well furnished. The very small lift to the second floor was a bit rickety so we used the stairs after our one ride in the lift.
Room & bathroom were fine but the aircon was virtually useless - we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year and all the unit could do was move air around. Breakfast was great, good value and all staff were friendly and helpful.
I always resent paying for hotel parking when the car park is dedicated to the hotel. £10 isn't a lot but it ought to be included. The hotel is NOT convenient for the city centre (we attended a gig at Blackweir Fields and it was quite a cab ride either way). We knew this but if you plan on walking - don't.
The hotel is near to some very busy roads into Cardiff so traffic noise is high if you have the windows open.
Privilege room very good. Air con perfect for hot weather. Only one armchair but ok. Dining room both breakfast & dinner good, food & service. Pet accompanying and welcomed.
Lift doing funny jumps. Quite scary.
Great, large room with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. When we checked-in we did have to change rooms due to noisy air-conditioning, but this was a simple process. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, but could have been a little hotter. All hotel staff were great.
Unfortunately there was a primary school prom party going on when we arrived and the reception and bar area were like a very noisy youth club. The design and position of the reception was also dreadful, who ever thought that was a good idea is crazy. Used hotel app to order items for the room, but these requests went unanswered and we had to chase via phone.
The staff where friendly on the first 2 nights there
On the third night asked how long were we to stay and our food order was lost by the kitchen and waited over an hour and then food did not come together and where told that we order something and we did not
Aircon
No clear upfront information about additional costs eg. Car park
It was average. It could be better
The shower water drain was going very slow. The elevator was dangerous. I took stairs every time. Lights were not enough.
Close to the main hospital, easy travel for an early appointment.
I loved the bedroom decoration, it was modern was very funky and the Aircon was ok but greatly appreciated in a hot period.
The shower was powerful and it had a deep shower tray.
The front desk staff were very kind and helpful despite being under pressure because the card machines were down.
The bathroom did have some cracks in the tiles which appeared less clean which made the modern bathroom look less sleek and there was no plug in the sink to seal the wide plug hole so I did worry I might drop something down it.
The parking signs were a bit confusing as the car park is chargeable to those not staying onsite. This was not fully clear until you got inside the hotel, that guests could register their car for parking.
Because the card machines systems.were down there seemed to be lots of difficulty with ordering drinks at the bar. It felt like very separate teams rather than one team working together.
Bar staff were quite direct with guests not clear on a contingency process which put pressure on the front desk. Guests were asked to go back and forth between the bar and front desk multiple times and drinks were very expensive.
Overall minor things that weren't ideal but acceptable as we needed somewhere close to stay for hospital appointments.
