Friendly staff, decent food, convenient
Great place, clean and quiet. Breakfast and room very good value.
Friendly staff and location
It’s all very dated. Holes in wall in restaurant area. (Looked as if old plug sockets removed.
Pieces of wood missing from door frame again in restaurant area.
Lack of up to date square pin plug sockets in bedroom.Provided with 4 way extension cable very short lead.
Wardrobe door hard to open and close. Bathroom door catching on floor. Bathroom very dated. Worn ceramic mark on bath.
Sink taps hard to turn off to prevent water constantly running.
Bathroom very dated.
Curtain hanging off rail.
No air conditioning.
Woken up first morning at 6.30 am with grass mower cutting grass on golf course. 20 to 30 mins duration. Same time second morning 5 mins during.
This was just outside bedroom window.
First day from 08.30 for approx 2 hrs banking and drilling suspect workmen repairing roof due to scaffolding outside.
Mention problems experienced on first morning tto receptionist and provided with complimentary breakfast.
On checking out was not asked how stay was as would have mentioned being woken up early again by lawnmower.
Surprised had to pay for parking.
Had stayed at hotel 6 years ago and standard of building has deteriorated.
Location
No plug for bath and hidden costs for pet
The staff were very friendly and obliging,
We weren't aware that Coulsdon Manor has now started charging for car parking, as you enter there is a machine by the Hotel entrance. there was scaffolding on the building outside of our room window, we were awoken at 8am to the sound of builders working on the scaffolding
There is Nothing to cheer about anything as the dilapidated run down hotel is crumbling to pieces and has got the hallmarks to soon become an unesco accredited historical ruin . It has a become an exclusive eyesore in the Surrey
Kitchen is so dirty and greasy . . carpets are awash with dirt and grime as its been there for almost a century .
Guests Bathroom taps are without hot and cold knobs and the toilets inside the guest rooms are not being cleaned with limescale removers so u could see.those deeply ingrained fecal limescale stains staring at you in almost every room .
The complaints have been endless but they still keep charging a whopping fee of £70 for a night . Shameless management
Receptionist was so helpful, before and after checking in. I didn't get her name, but she is Irish.
Charging for parking when you are a resident. Bathrooms need updating.
Stayed for a local wedding. Good breakfast. A bit tired in parts but room was clean
Convenient location near to Croydon and much quieter than staying in the town centre or in the hotels off the Purley Way. Plenty of car parking.
Reception staff and bar staff very attentive. Cleaning staff working very hard in extremely hot weather conditions. Nice hotel and setting Lovely. Top marks.
Clean bedroom but a few things didn't work.Lift doors inside and out very dirty for both days of our stay. Our bedroom not ready when we arrived at 3pm changed to a new room. Few things didn't work, light above dressing table, plug sockets next to bed and hairdryer didn't work. Only had one flat pillow each. Our original room may have been better? Stayed 2 nights, we were left one packet of biscuits for 2 people, 4 tea bags and 4 milks sachets. We asked at reception for tea or coffee bags and milk when we arrived back from a family wedding in the evening but the receptionist didn't know where they were? Breakfast at 9am but the eggs and beans had run out, waited 15mins for more. ( only wanted an egg on toast)..
A little fore thought when running low would have helped. There was still one hour of breakfasts to go.
We have been before and stay here because of the good parking and great location for us. The staff are always nice. The breakfast is OK but the rooms are a bit tired.
There are often events in the hotel which can be noisy and continue until midnight. We have always had large rooms which are a bit tired but basically clean. This time we didn't sleep at all due to the heat. Our room was like a furnace despite having a fan switched on the whole time.
Location and Staff
Chairs stained in rooms, mold around the bath. Breakfast not the best.
