Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very large room in a separate block alongside the car park, with plenty of storage space. During our last night there was a power cut, so no electric available in the room in the morning. In the main hotel some of the lights were out, but the breakfast area was lit and the staff did really well to ensure we had breakfast. Juice, cereals and pastries were laid out for us to help ourselves and if you wanted toast, or a cooked breakfast you placed an order with the server and the main kitchen would cook it for you. The staff did well under the stressful circumstances. Hotel was in a central location in the town, with the high street a short walk away.
The tiles in the bathroom had become stained and looked dirty even though we could see the bathroom was clean. Some of the woodwork needs a little attention. A hook beside the shower entrance would be useful to hang your towel on. As we were on the ground floor, we felt we couldn't leave the main window open, for security reasons and it was a very warm night (we did leave the small upper window open). There was a tower fan provided thankfully, though the oscillate function did not work. A light above the mirror over the desk would be handy to see better when applying your make up.

Nothing about the hotel was appealing
Hotel was utterly filthy and the room smelt of sick. Toilet waste black and the shower hadn't been wiped in an age and was disgusting. Suggest the cleaning regime was to change the poor quality bobbling bedding for more bedding of the same quality.. learn from my mistake. Don't do it to yourself. I arrived at 8.30pm and left at 10 with no recompense as the receptionist wasn't able to give a refund.. just incompetent and dirty.
Helpful staff and manager/owner relating to electrical power.
No fault of the hotel but there was no electrical power when we arrived, due th fact that the main electrical feed to the
area, in the pavement had failed. The manager was very proactive in sorting it out.

Booked a suite overlooking garden area, was overlooking car park. Spoke to staff who said they didn't have rooms overlooking any garden except for the honeymoon suite and it was naughty of booking.com to sell us one. We later found a paper that said there was several. The water took forever to drain from the bath. No curtain in bathroom so no proper privacy. Bedroom window was above outside smoking area which wasn't pleasant either. The bed dipped in the middle too.

Towel rail couldn't be turned off due to hotel water supply but it was 35° outside so made for a very uncomfortable night for two of my family.
