Nothing
Room functional & staff generally firendly
Breakfast very good selection
Overall a bit dated & poor ambience
Close to hospital
The nappy in the bathroom left behind
Key card not working twice
Didn’t feel safe - chaos at front of hotel with a man entering. Police called by staff. Not their fault, but unsettling.
Tbe location of the room was nice. Not far from reception and on the ground floor, with a side view of the river.
The bathroom was not clean. The toilet flushed intermittently, which was unhyginic.
The razor plug in the bathroom did not work so we were unable to charge Tony's razor or my tooth brush.
There was very little space to hang or store clothing.
The kettle was stored where clothes could be hung and little space to move the kettle and cups to another place.
The room was cold and damp and it took time to get the heating to work.
The bathroom had no ventelation, adding to the dampness.
We have stayed at many Mecure hotels here and in France but the quality at this hotel was not of the same standard. In fact, we stayed at this hotel in February, this year and we felt the standards had declined, especially.
We also found the standard of the breakfast poor. Staff were slow to replenish items and the quality was poor.
The room was well organised.
I believe management should speak with the Indian receptionist who was working the night shift on 13/06/2026.
The receptionist demonstrated very poor customer service and a lack of understanding when it came to assisting guests. I was not satisfied with the way I was treated during my visit.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., I arrived at the hotel and was informed that I could not check in until 3:00 p.m. My phone battery was on 2%, and I politely asked if I could charge it briefly so I could contact someone and make alternative arrangements. Unfortunately, the receptionist refused to assist me and left me struggling to find a solution. Eventually, the police arrived and kindly helped me charge my phone so that I could sort out the situation.
The inconvenience was made worse because the check-in time was not clearly communicated in my booking confirmation email. I attempted to discuss this issue with the staff on duty, but they were unwilling to cooperate or offer any practical assistance.
I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received and hope this matter will be addressed to prevent similar experiences for future guests.
Polite and patient concierge who accepted that the price that they were going to charge was wrong (they wanted an extra £20 for a pre-booked room ). Breakfast was plentiful and in a very pleasant room overlooking the river. Good showerroom but had a stale smell to it and extractor fan not working.
The fact that I had to prove that the room price was wrong. Also, the room was advertised as having a 'panoramic view of the city" - all we could see were the air-conditioning units on a flat roof next to the bedroom
Staff were pleasant
Close to town
Location
Had to get pass key for room reloaded EVERY DAY so I could get in my room
The room was not clean. In shower room had a used pampers and toilet paper from previous guests and the sink was blocked.
