The decor inside the communal areas is beautiful, clean and cozy. They is plenty of comfy seating in the bar and restaurant area. The room we stayed in was modernly decorated but basic. The mattress was comfy and the air conditioning was good.
It is located by a pub, subway, McDonald and a decent sized Asda express. If choosing not to use the hotel dinning and bar facilities.
The building from outside looks dated and an eyesore.
It was not made clear to us that we could use the robes provided to walk down to the spa and leisure facilities rather than changed down there.
They is no phone number in the room to call down to the hair salon and/or Beauty salon to enquire about available appointment times. They is no price list in the room for the price of any treatments on offer. It was not easy to locate on the website where guest are directed to look.
Both pillows on the bed were both very firm. They were not an option of a soft and firm pillow.
The grounds and the overall place
The rooms are well kept and cosy
coffee and breakfast and the lady running the breakfast service - plus chef made an excellence omlette.
staff at the gym.... sent me back to my room to get little bit of paper to show i was staying at hotel... then asked me to pay f£7 for access!!! which was a surprise and pissed me off... spoke to manager who refused to wave the fee and said it is obvious on booking.com that a fee was needed to go to the gym .... so no gym...l and i had booked it specifically to go to the gym as it looked great in the photos.... so really p'ed off.
Nice grounds and location.
Drop the name ‘Grand’ as not! Rooms not even serviced on a 2 night stay! Curtains hanging off rails, fan to cool room, very dated furniture and bathroom facilities. Receptionist didn’t even ask for feedback about our stay on check out! Would not book again ever!

Beside missing a soft pillow the property was perfect for value
Having a quiet drink down stairs, the bar staff were great. But For the first time in 5 years, nothing once we went to bed at 11pm. Work's sleep ever unfortunately...
Me and my partner have stayed here on many occasions over the years with out any problems, however last night there were numerous occasions were people were running up and down lever 1 for hours on end, lost count how many times they were whistling loud and slamming doors. If I had of went out I would of lost my s**t! I had a really bad head ache and me and my partner left in a very unpleasant mood!!! I can't be the only one who has mentioned this after last night's antics. Absolute joke and clearly there welfare and security were non existent on that night. Definitely wont being go back after that. Its a shame because its been 5 years plus...
