The location and environment
Nothing
Great location - needed some updating especially the bathrooms
Put next to golfers who were very noisy in the evening and noisy early am
Beautiful hotel
I had paid in advance for the two rooms and then they tried to charge my for we for the room again. When. I questioned it I was told that I had only authorised a charge against the card rather than a payment. That was rubbish. I challenged it again and they admitted I had already paid for the rooms. Very poor
The location was excellent and staff were super accommodating.
Tranquil location
Golf course not great. Bunkers did not contain enough sand. Tee boxes littered with broken tees. Inadequate signage. Room boiling hot - no a/c and fan was cheap and useless. Breakfast poor quality and not good value.
Wunderschönes Hotel!
Room was lovely ( though no aircon in a £168 a night room ?) Bed was very comfy
Food was outstanding
Breakfast was very good with a great selection
Bar selection, only Pepsi available why no Cocacola
The facilities were great and staff pleasant.
It was a bit dated and needs some TLC
The location was lovely by the lake.
No air on. No fridge. No drawers. No patio/ balcony - no outside private space.
Staff were pleasant.
The room was damp and had mould on the wall corners and skirting. The bed sheets were damp and the bed badly made up, sheets not tucked in. We could taste the mould and damp in the air overnight. The bath shower water was cold as the temperature regulator was broken. The view was of a scrub grass bank and golfers walked past right outside violating privacy. This was not a Deluxe room. We quit the hotel early refusing to take breakfast and asked for a full refund which the reception staff agreed to and we await payment which we believe is through Booking.com. We took photos as evidence. This is the first time we have ever complained as it was so awful and we paid £186 ish for this disaster.
Lovely location and staff were great
I completely understand that it is an old building and we are currently having heat waves but providing a very small desk fan in 33° heat just isn’t adequate. It was unbearable in our room to the point that I barely slept. They really need to either invest in some proper fans for the room or think about investing heavily into some Aircon.
Beautiful place! Super comfy beds!!
The restaurant was good but very expensive for what it was. Part of the experience I suppose!
Beautiful grounds
Staff were SO rude upon check in, we’d requested an earlier check in and when we arrived 90 minutes early - we were told there were no rooms ready and it was tough. I said I’d spoken to someone about it by email and was told ‘well that’s booking.com not us’ when that absolutely wasn’t the case. Only when I kicked up a fuss did they attempt to find a room that was ready! The room was poor for £200. Breakfast was good. The grounds were beautiful.
Really disappointed the facility of pool wasn’t what it looked like in the image the jacuzzi was brokewasnt informed or would of booked another hotel , unclean dust in rooms and broken window
The grounds where beautiful and the breakfast other than that wouldn’t stay again
The Grounds where very nice and well maintained.
Breakfast was nice with a good selection.
Swimming was nice, just the walls, windows and roof could use some TLC to make it a nicer place to be.
The room was dated and not very clean, mould on some walls and curtains where very dirty.
Overpriced bar, had a bad experience with my first drink (ale) had some sludge buildup that come off the beer tap in my drink. But did get a replacement when pointed out.
Room could use air conditioning especially for the price.
No fridge in our room, which would be handy in hot weather.
The electrics where either faulty or have a very strange arrangement.
