Hotel Katuma hits all the marks for the type of place we prefer staying when visiting a large city. Great location outside the “tourist zone”within walking distance of authentic restaurants and nightlife, easy access to the transit system, welcoming staff, a small building with character, and modernized rooms with all the amenities you could want!

Clean, location and proximity to metro, amenities, service

Loved the aesthetic and modern look. Very clean with thoughtful extras like wireless phone charging attached to the bedside. This place is a hidden gem. Below is an AMAZING highly rated Ethiopian restaurant Nile Blue- must try! Super kind and friendly staff. Fresh coffee and croissant offered each morning. Very close to a metro station. Head towards Ontario Street on St-Denis and you'll find so many more restaurants to select from, including some surprising ones across the street from the hotel for brunch.

Although we are still staying at Hotel Kutuma and will be checking out tomorrow, we wanted to leave a review before we leave because our experience has been so wonderful.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and at home. Everyone has been exceptionally kind, professional, and helpful. Our room is beautiful, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with unique charm and attention to detail that make this hotel truly special.
The location is excellent, within walking distance of great restaurants, cafés, shops, and many of Montreal’s attractions. Everything about our stay has exceeded our expectations.
We travel frequently, and Hotel Kutuma stands out as one of the most enjoyable and memorable places we have stayed. Thank you to the entire team for providing such outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again on future visits to Montreal.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional in every way!

As a solo traveler, I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Kutuma. The hotel feels warm, elegant, and peaceful, a perfect escape after exploring Montreal all day.

The room was spotless, spacious, and full of character, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. The location is also amazing for walking around the Plateau and discovering great cafés and restaurants nearby. They also have an on site restaurant called Le Nil Bleu which serves exceptional Ethiopian food.

What I appreciated most was how comfortable and relaxing everything felt. It’s the kind of boutique hotel that makes traveling alone feel special rather than lonely. I would definitely stay here again !

Confort, modernisme, accueil

I had a great time at Hotel Kutuma. I stayed there alone for three nights. I originally booked a standard (economic) room, but was upgraded to a larger, family room due to a last minute cancellation. Great amenities: gigantic bed, large refurbished bathroom, fridge, sofa, etc etc... very comfortable and very clean.
The staff was friendly, polite and accommodating (I booked one night at a time, and could keep the same room, at the same rate)
Value for money was good, especially as I was upgraded. Location was convenient: walking distance to Little Italy (for work), and the city centre (sightseeing
Atmosphere very good and friendly, did not have any issue with noise.
Overall, I have only good things to say.

Regarding the Kutuma Hotel, you will not find a kinder, more welcoming group of people to receive you. And you will not find a kinder, more welcoming group of people to attend to your needs. Its restaurant is outstanding. Its location is pivotal. And if you could stay another day or two, you just might.

L'accueil et le service de ce boutique hotel est sympathique et attentionné. Nous étions à Montréal pour une dizaine de jours afin d'y retrouver notre fille qui réside dans le quartier du plateau. L'hôtel Kutuma est excellement situé pour quiconque veut découvrir Montréal tout en s'immergeant dans la routine des habitants du plateau. C'est incontestablement le quartier le plus charmant de la ville. De nombreux restaurants, cafés et commerces en tout genre sont à proximité immédiate, sans oublier celui de l'hôtel que nous recommandons également.

Amazing place in Montreal

I’m really happy I chose this hotel for my first visit to Montreal. I read a lot of reviews before booking, and I’m so glad I picked this one — it was definitely the right choice.

I’ve traveled quite a bit, and it’s not easy to find a place with such genuinely kind and caring staff. Everyone here is very attentive and truly wants to help. Nothing feels fake — you just feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Thank you so much, Adam! I’ll always remember my birthday and my stay here.

The hotel is very clean, close to the metro, and the rooms have everything you need. Some rooms even have a jacuzzi, which is such a nice extra if you want to relax. The breakfast is complimentary and really good, and the beds are super comfortable.

There’s no elevator in the building, but it wasn’t an issue for me at all — the staff are happy to help with luggage.

It’s also very quiet, which I really liked.
I would love to come back here one day. I feel very grateful I got to stay here.

Décor superbe équipements modernes et neufs bain autonettoyant très propre. Grand lit. Et le restaurant abordable et délicieux . Une pépite!
