Views from balcony and breakfast room spectacular. Staff always smiling and helpful. Breakfast was same every day but plenty of choices from cereals, pastries and hot offerings.
It would be a benefit if they provided coffee making facility in the room like most hotels either a kettle or coffee machine so you could make a drink when having a nightcap on your balcony and the hotel bar is shut at 11pm.
The views of the bay and Etna are fabulous from the balcony. The pool is clean and refreshing also with amazing views.
The property is rated as a 4 star. This is certainly not a 4 star hotel. I would estimate that it is a tired 2 star at the most. The hotel was apparently built in 1960 and appears not to have been touched since. The lift is very small and slow. If you are claustrophobic in any way it’s better avoided. Most of the staff were nice and helpful but the older man who organises the breakfast area is rude and not welcoming at all. There are much better hotels which represent better value for money in the area. We would definitely not return to this hotel.
Beautiful views from room and terrace, very nice quiet pool. Lovely staff
Shower was a bit creaky!
Our stay at Hotel Mediterraneo exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and exceptional service.
The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the heart of Taormina while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was beautifully presented, immaculately clean, and had breathtaking views that made every morning feel special.
The breakfast was delicious, with a fantastic selection of fresh local produce, and every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their recommendations for restaurants and local attractions made our visit even more memorable.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would recommend Hotel Mediterraneo to anyone visiting Taormina. We can’t wait to return!
NA
Gentillesse et disponibilité du personnel, emplacement, vue
Salle de bain, douche trop petite.
Climatisation trop ancienne
Amazing location a very short 10 minute walk to the Main Street. Although up the top of a short, steep hill, this was absolutely fine for us to walk off our dinner each night! Loved the pool area, this was gorgeous, very chill and always beds available (this was end of June).
All of the staff were lovely. Continental breakfast was delicious with a variety of hot food and baked pastries available. Rooms were spotless.
You can also use their sister hotel down at the beach and book to be dropped off and picked up and use their private beach area and loungers. This was great, we took advantage of this a couple of times and found this wee private beach much quieter and nicer than Isola Bella which was overcrowded on the day we went.
The resort of Taormina was stunning with lots off gorgeous restaurants and the ancient Greek theatre.
We will definitely be back loved it all.
Nothing!
Superb service, enjoyable breakfast and wonderful terrace with views of Taormina and the coastline.
Bathroom far too small - larger people would struggle in the shower and using the other facilities
Ystävällinen ja avulias henkilökunta. Kaikki toimi, kuten pitääkin. Klassinen hotelli, jos etsit modernia, ei ehkä sinun juttusi. Huone pelkistetty mutta toimiva. Sijainti hyvä. Hotelli huolehti parkkeerauksesta.
Location and view
Not courteous
The View. The Staff. The Location
There is nothing I didn’t like about the location except that maybe it’s a European thing to not have too many shampoo and conditioner bottles
The location was perfect for our 3 day stay, all staff were super friendly and very helpful.
Ottima colazione e personale eccellente
Location was both good and challenging. Good because it was at the front of Taormina just a 5-7 minute hike downhill to the Main Street where all the shops are. It’s not central so you still have to walk quite a bit to get to the funicular or amphitheater which is on the opposite end. The view from the hotel was great. There was also a nice pool on the rooftop.
Location was good but challenging because you still have to climb a lot of stairs and hike up. What I did not like were the bathrooms. The shower is TINY. Like a prison shower. Unfortunately the rooms are just smaller so that’s all the space there is available but if you are claustrophobic of tiny showers this will be very uncomfortable. Apparently the walls are paper thin because we had to make an international emergency call at midnight and the people next door were banging on our wall and the receptionist came up and treated us like we were doing something bad in our room. The TV only has Italian channels and the air conditioning is controlled by the hotel. For some reason around noon each day they would shut off the AC for several hours and the room was burning hot. There is a free breakfast option but the food sucked and the only thing worth eating was the cereal. Considering they are charging a lot of money for the room this is a very big disappointment.
