Perfecte (zeker qua diner) locatie voor een tussenstop tijdens een reis
Pros:

Het personeel is aller vriendelijkst, behulpzaam en gastvrij
Het diner is fantastisch, wat een geweldige keuken.
Een super prijs/kwaliteit verhouding

Cons:

De badkamer is een beetje out-dated met een kwalitatief mindere douche.
Het was wel warm in de kamer dus een ventilator zou geen overbodige luxe zijn
Wel prima geslapen op de fijne bedden

Fijn verblijf met goed eten op doortocht
Pros:

Goed bed in een schone kamer. Heerlijk Indiaas eten in het restaurant . Goed bereikbaar op weg naar onze bestemming in Zuid Engeland .

Cons:

Eigenlijk niets. Het gebouw is wat minder monumentaal dan de buitenkant doet vermoeden , maar dat mag de pret niet drukken .

Wir haben hier zu zweit eine sehr preiswerte, angenehme Woche verbracht.
Pros:

Das englische Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut.
Die Betten waren super bequem, die Matratze fast besser als zu Hause und ich wiege an die 100 kg.
Das Personal war sehr nett und hat sich um jede Frage gekümmert. Bei einem kleinen Unfall wurde ich sehr gut versorgt und es wurde ein Bericht dazu angelegt.
Das Essen im Restaurant war auch sehr lecker. Besonders die Chit Chaat Samosas haben es mir angetan!
Der Inhaber hat mir vom Küchenchef sogar extra ein Lassi machen lassen, obwohl es nicht auf der Karte stand.
Das Restaurant war schön eingerichtet.
Der Fernseher war groß und der Ton ok, wenn auch nicht an der günstigsten Zimmerseite angebracht. (seitlich der Betten)
Es gab einen großen Schreibtisch im Zimmer. Bad mit Dusch/Wanne.
Die Hotelzimmer waren von der Ausstattung einfach, aber für den Preis angemessen. Es gab auch ein Bügelbrett mit Bügeleisen im Zimmer. Das Gebäude ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber die Fenster schienen neu zu sein. Man darf allerdings keinen Luxus erwarten.
Das Hotel lag für uns sehr günstig, da wir sowohl den Ashdown Forest wie auch London besuchen wollten. Wir sind mit dem Auto angereist und es gab immer genügend Parkplätze (kostenlos).
In der Nähe liegt auch ein Supermarkt, mehrere Imbisse und ein schöner Pub fußläufig erreichbar.

Cons:

Mich hat der Kleiderschrank überrascht, der keine Türen hatte und bei dem ein Einlegeboden fehlte.
Wir hatten eine sehr heiße Woche mit ca 30°C erwischt - da man in England nicht unbedingt mit einer Klimaanlage rechnet und das Zimmer keinen Fensterladen oder dunkle Vorhänge aufwies, war es nicht so leicht, das Zimmer durchzulüften, so hatten wir fast ein Mittelmeer-Feeling. Aber ich denke, dieses Klima ist hier auch nicht die Regel.
Uns hat es nicht gestört, aber hätte man erwartet, dass das Zimmer zwischendurch aufgeräumt/gereinigt würde, hätte das extra gekostet. Handtücher gab es aber immer kostenlos frisch.

A bizarre, almost charming, combination of excellent and amateurish.
Pros:

Staff were helpful and generally friendly. Freddie the Cornishman was a star. Some very good decor and pictures. Good walk-in shower.

Cons:

More space in the room, with a desk and enough seating would have been useful. A toilet without staining, and with a brush provided. should have been a basic provision.

Pros:

Arrived at property was told I’ve been upgraded to a different room the bedroom had a heating pipe which was red hot all night it was like having the radiator on full in the summer window wide open still didn’t cool it down spit on 3 walls clearly not clean hairs and a filthy shower curtain dials all loose on wall for shower toilet filthy cold tap not working plug sockets not working & loose reported to staff no help all they said was we will get someone to contact you no apologies very rude & unhelpful I’ve stayed at loads of hotels this is overall filthy & clearly not looked after steer clear it’s cheaper & cleaner to stay at a Travelodge not even a phone call or email disgusting customer service

Freddy one of the member of staff was excellent in sorting out a heating problem we had

It was the 5 June and the heating was on in the room and couldn't be turned off. We had to move rooms late at night

Looking for somewhere else next time!
Pros:

Great location, very convenient, decent hotel.

Cons:

It was red hot in our room. The heating was permanently on and couldn’t be switched off. Outside our bedroom window was a filthy dump with detritus everywhere!

Es gab ausreichend Parkplätze.
Das Abendessen (indisch) war gut.
Das ganze Hotel ist leider in die Jahre gekommen, was sehr schade ist. Es ist ein schönes Gebäude mit Potential!
Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passte aber.

Cons:

Wir hatten den Ventilator eingeschaltet, weil das Zimmer sehr warm war. Leider war er so verstaubt, dass der ganze Teppichboden schmutzig wurde.
Es fehlten am Bett die Nachttischchen, die anhand der sichtbaren Macken aber mal vorhanden waren.
