We loved our room and breakfast was amazing. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Truly remarkable staff as they were covering for the hotel employees on strike.

Fint hotell, hyggelig personale og bra lokasjon
Ingen belysning/kommunikasjon ved bestilling at middag utgikk pga streik - dette er et virkemiddel som gjorde at jeg valgte dette hotellet fremfor et annet. At det ikke var rom for avslag på pris som følge av dette er også negativt.
The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh options. The steam and dry sauna were nice to use. The walk from the train station was easy short walk with luggage.

Breakfast was lovely. All staff were very helpful despite dealing with the challenges of a service workers' strike. This did unfortunately mean that dinner was not available. But otherwise -- wonderful!
Good hotel in excellent location. The staff were good despite having to work in difficult circumstances.
Due to the strike the hotel couldn’t offer the evening meal or the cleaning of rooms that we had booked and paid the hotel for. When we asked about a refund we were told that we had to contact Booking.com
This hotel is both lustrous and cosy at the same time. We had a beautiful room with bay windows, great size, huge comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast had incredible choice, and free coffee downstairs is also very welcome.
The location is amazing as well, right by the historic area but still relatively quiet.
Most importantly, the staff really made this stay special. Roza and Hilde worked around the clock to make sure guests needed for nothing despite general strike in the hospitality industry that affected Bergen. Initially I was concerned about how the quality of our stay would be affected but honestly thanks to general managers doing every job around the hotel themselves we felt like we needed for nothing. Well done!
There is an accordion player during the weekend playing next to the hotel in the afternoon, and after a few hours it gets a bit much. Pick a room on a quiet side if you’d rather avoid it.
The room and board option was excellent. We received a excellent breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. No need to eat out. A great cost savings. The bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent. We even got to climb to the top of the tower and view the city.
The room was a little small by comparison but we made due. Struggled getting the heat adjusted with their system but after a few hours we were warm and comfy.
