Tn breakfaast -selft service -was great including lots of fresh options or eatr options from the mene like pancakes.
The service in the restaurant on the evening was vry poor. I booked a table and ordered straight away a main -no starter. I was getting some table water that I had to chase after 20mins and my email after 41mins. the girl went to lok into it but came out and did not update me. The crumbs from breakfast were all over the seating, I was not the only one to have to brush my seat before sitting down but this still did not trigger anyone to remove all the crumbs from the other o the same seating row. There was a fan unit somewhere that kept coming on and woke me up several times on both nights. Staff were very polite and professional but not very friendly at reception
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent and the room was comfortable
Restaurant- lunch and dinner choices were good and very tasty. The service was great. Unfortunately the breakfast hot buffet ran out one or two items very quickly, especially the eggs.
Unbelievable breakfast. Staff very pleasant.
Location and gym is great
Air con didn’t work and manager didn’t respond. It was a hot day and uncomfortable so I didn’t get much sleep as a result.
We booked a double room & the reception staff first of all 'told' me very loudly & borderline aggressively we were getting a twin room as this is what we booked ...I checked my confirmation again & showed him that we had booked a double room to which he told me that we had to take it up with Booking.com as they had no control & was the only room available as they were fully booked. He talked really really loud for everyone to hear behind us & seemed to be a ploy to get the upperhand especially when he told me in no uncertain terms I must have booked a twin room ...I showed him that we had booked a double then he took no responsibility but passed on blame to booking.com.
We waited 15 mins if not even longer for main breakfast items in a buffet including sausages, bacon, hash browns etc which had all run out ...even then I had no eggs which took another 10 mins to come out
Disappointing...
Overall some of The staff in this hotel didn't seem to respond to any pressure very well were ready to start arguing even when asked simple questions...
Talked loudly ...bad customer service with no accountability or apologies extended for things that were not up to standard
Room had a massive rip in curtains which couldn't be missed
Cleanliness in bathroom wasn't up to standard ...hair around loo which is disgusting.
Lovely and clean always kept tidy and the staff are always friendly
Pool and surrounding area.It was peaceful with views across the Ironbridge gorge.
The room was spotless and well decorated, however, it was obvious on initial entry to the room that there was a distinct smell, possibly of the previous occupant using cannabis.
The male receptionist called shaune was very helpful kind and loved dogs very much and looked after people with a smile 😃 always.
The breakfast is not worth the money really unless you get there super early maybe but we don't want to get up early when on a break away . The odd reception that work there could be more welcoming and carpet areas needed a gd clean maybe worn! And catered more for the golfers and office professionals then people visiting from afar etc.
Clean, tidy, good facilities and really helpful staff.
Lovely views, I imagine if you play golf, it’s also a good place to stay. The spa also seemed ok. Reception staff also lovely.
1. Tiny rooms. Really small, like city centre hotel rooms.
2. Restaurant staff borderline incompetent.
3. Way too expensive for what it is.
4. Think Harvester Pub vibes but at Hilton prices.
5. Food mediocre (all meals)
We decided to check out a day early, we just came home. Receptionist didn’t seem surprised/ask why we were leaving early. I guess it happens a lot…
We did start to find it funny at some point though. Perhaps funniest moment was the (useless) restaurant manager plonking down a bottle of white wine (unopened) in the middle of the table and clearing off without a word.
It’s fine, it’s a typical ‘meh’ English hotel, they’ve got the reputation they have for a reason. But the prices don’t justify the mediocre offering.
Lovely dinner and my girls both enjoyed their food very much.
I personally like a breakfast cooked for me so that I can specify, bacon well cooked, eggs cooked both sides.... but understand that this is not possible when very busy.
At our second brakfast both coffee mahines were not working.
My daughter is a coeliac and there was only one possible dessert that she could have (luckily she loved it and had it twice), it would have been nice for more GF options.
I was disappointed that there were no twin bedded rooms that my daughters could use - even if a bit away (I did ask on booking), My youngest daughter ended up sleeping on the floor for the first night and my eldest sleeping with me for the second to allow my youngest to be able to sleep for a night.
I booked this ahead of another option, solely because it had a gym
First room had no air conditioning, broken, and was unbearably hot, second room had air conditioning but not working effectively.
It felt like the room change was a down grade - nothing superior about it.
Location
Breakfast
Lack of functioning air conditioning on 3 very hot days…only worked
once after attention from engineer, for half a dsy
Telling me it was only 3 steps when I had to mount about 20 steps with a heavy suitcase by myself
When I asked for help on leaving my room, staff too so long to appear I d managed myself!
No bar service during England match …found out next day that there was another bar hosting the event
