Alles behalve locatie..foto s zijn niet representatief. Zeer verouderd. Bedden in twijfelaars afmeting. Kamers vies en schimmel in de badkamer met losse tegels en hangend plancet. 24/7 brommend geluid in de kamer door de koelende biertap. Steeds beterschap beloofd en enkel sorry. Is blijkbaar al lang bekend zie ik nu in de oudere revieuws. Geen uitzicht en tuinman is denk ik al zeer geruime tijd niet geweest. We hadden dit hotel gekozen voor de mogelijkheid van een diner s avonds. Maar er werd zomaar gezegd nee restaurant is nu dicht. Het personeel gaf een geprint lijstje waar je wel kon eten...hoorde meerdere klanten klagen...nooit meer ..

Very unpleasant. The smell of damp hits you as you walk into your room. Mouldy shower, stained bedding, it just hadn't been cleaned properly. The church bell kept us awake all night, ringing every fifteen minutes (which we weren't warned about at check-in). We couldn't open the windows because of the noise so the room was sweltering hot. Breakfast was stale croissants and the milk and juices weren't topped up enough. Awful.

That makes the criticism much stronger because you’re comparing it with the hotel’s own recent standard, not some imagined expectation.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the Rosslea.

What made it particularly disappointing is that we stayed here not that long ago, when both the breakfast and dinner were excellent. The contrast with this visit was striking.

The hotel currently has no chef, so breakfast consisted of a very basic continental offering which felt like the minimum possible effort. For a hotel of this type, and knowing what it was previously capable of, we expected considerably better.

There was also no hairdryer in our room and, when we asked, the staff were unable to provide one.

Perhaps most disappointing was the outside space. The Rosslea clearly once had a beautiful garden, but it now appears badly neglected, overgrown and rather shoddy. It gives the impression of a hotel that is simply not receiving the care or investment it once did.

The staff we encountered were pleasant, but there seemed to be a serious shortage of them, and unfortunately this showed throughout the hotel.

There is the basis of a lovely hotel here, and we know from our previous stay how good it can be. That makes the apparent decline all the more disappointing.

The breakfast was poor only hot food available was toast
Coffee and Tea held in thermos jugs
cold meat and cheese had no cover over them and no labels to say what they were
The room had hair all on the bed, the bathroom needed an update. The window was covered in mould and cobwebs where the glass has blown

El hotel se ve viejo, no tiene ascensor, mobiliario muy antiguo y desgastado. La moqueta muy sucia, las cortinas con manchas, la bañera oxidada, el sofá cama horroroso e incomodísimo, la cisterna del WC apenas echaba agua. No repetiría.

The breakfast was a continental one which was a little disappointing seeing as they served food in the bar/restaurant in afternoon and evening. But they offered a great selection of continental items.

The hotel exterior needs maintenance. The description suggests that the hotel has a view over the loch, but this is not the case. From the ground floor, the view is of the garden. There is no view of the water. There was no a/c but luckily the temperatures were mild, so although the room was hot it was not unbearable. There is a church just 50 or 60 metres away that has an automated church bell that chimes every quarter hour, including right through the night. It disturbed our sleep.

Reservei um quarto para 3 pessoas (adolescentes) e mais um quarto duplo. Tive de pagar por separado embora só tenha feito uma reserva. O quarto triplo não estava preparado, o sofá cama não tinha roupa de cama, pedimos para montarem essa cama mas era impossível alguém dormir naquele sofá, de molas, muito velho e desconfortável. O hotel está muito envelhecido e pouco cuidado. Disseram q a continha fechava as 20:30. Fomos jantar às 19:30. O serviço foi tão lento que já não podemos pedir sobremesas pq a cozinha fechou, nem sequer perguntaram se queríamos acrescentar alguma coisa ao pedido pq a cozinha ia fechar. Há muito por onde melhorar

Church clock ringing every 15 minutes during the night. My husband didn't get any sleep at all.
I did. But I'm deaf and wear hearing aids.
Should this be allowed to happen continuously during the night like this? Maybe the hotel could make a complaint on behalf of their guests. Or has something gone wrong with the timing? If so. It needs to be rectified quickly. It could put guests off coming to the hotel.
We stayed in February this year and my husband didn't hear it then.
Once I put my hearing aids in on the Sunday morning. I can couldn't believe the noise.

Awful pillows, our necks were killing us.

Room door key card needed to be activated everytime we left the hotel and even when we didn't that was utterly frustrating i've never ever had an issue like that before in any hotel i've ever stayed at.

The food left a lot to be desired especially the wedding buffet i didn't touch it.

For tourists coming to Scotland it
would be nice to serve a scottish breakfast like porridge which is very simple to make plus a full Scottish breakfast it's lovely to sample Scottish fayre. Was only continental food on offer plus pastries and croissants which were not fresh everyday.

The menu for the evening meal was dire as we paid for half board.

We were staying for my son's wedding but we only had three coathangers in the wardrobe.

The toilet paper cheap and nasty.

The shower door wasn't secure.


All in all the biggest issue for us as we booked a 4 night stay because we drove up from England was the poor standard of food we definitely wouldn't have booked half-board but it's a lesson learned.
