I arrived at The Village, after a very traumatic experience at Travel Lodge, and in distress.
The lady who greeted me at the desk was amazing. Her name was Katy. Katy listened to my story and she went out of her way to help me and book my husband and I a room and sent me off to bed to rest. Katy made me feel so much better, and calmer. She then had interactions with my husband when he arrived and was again very helpful and appeared to genuinely care.
We ended up needing to extend out stay, and both Katy and a male member of staff were very good at accommodating us and very helpful.
We used the hotels facilities in-between hospital visits, and the food very nice. Chris the barman was really good at getting us a little table during a world cup game, despite us not booking. He was a very friendly barman and welcoming.
Our room was lovely, comfortable bed and comfortable large pillows. Very good shower. And had working air con which was a god send during that week!
If we ever have a need to be in Christchurch again, we would not hesitate in booking our stay at The Village.
Thank you Katy for the kindness you showed me, I will never forget this.
Very clean and managed very well
Extra charges for parking per day wasnt aware off and gym which thought was part of the package needs to be clearer
The cleaning in the room
Hotel itself
Air con was broken. No communication and still haven’t received or nosed refund
Staff were excellent and very helpful. Very clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet had a good selection. Parking was excellent which is rare these days. Location was good as we had family emergency and it’s located directly across from the hospital.
The Village Hotel is very nice and friendly
We was put in a disabled room?
Have not been for a while so was a little disappointed hotel is nice but seems to just cater for conferences. Paying for parking is new and paying for the use of swimming pool and gym disappointing
breakfast finishing at 10 am at lease not 9am
free entry to pool and gym as residents
Cleanliness, good facilities and modern

Price of the alcohol 🤣🤣
The room was stylish and comfortable. Swimming pool and leisure facilities are great, clean and well-maintained. Staff are helpful.
Nothing was open on checkout 7am Saturday. Starbucks and the breakfast facilities were shut, meaning we had to buy food and coffee elsewhere.
There is a high pitch siren from the hospital next door at all times.
