Breakfast outstanding 40th birthday

The location, the facilities, the comfy rooms and beds, the stunning beer garden overlooking the lake - perfect for kids, but the best thing of all - the staff! Helpful, smiley and lovely, all of them, even in high pressure situations and never ending queues on a sunny bank holiday weekend. Someone in our party had an accident (outside of the hotel) and the general manager was really nice, considerate and super helpful, which helped in a very stressful situation. We will definitely be coming back
We were there on the hottest may bank holiday weekend and the pub was constantly packed, which meant you had to queue for drinks and food and one day we even had to wait 90 minutes for our food. However, the staff was absolutely doing their best and didn't stop for a minute. The day after the madness they closed it for residents only which kind of made up for it! Really well managed

Location right on edge of Lake Windermere by boat piers. Big pub garden, good food, rooms were quiet with comfy beds. Bathrooms are a little tired but benefits outweigh this. Good hearty breakfast, lots of choice.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly and helpful. Parking onsite behind rooms.

The location is good for exploring the Lake District and the room itself was reasonably clean. Staff were polite when spoken to directly.
For £165 the overall experience was disappointing. Check-in was very unclear as it simply referred to “the Inn” without clear directions, and both myself and another guest were left waiting at the bar for quite some time while staff continued serving others without acknowledging guests trying to check in. We were told food was served until 9pm, however after queueing again to order at around 6:30pm we were then told food was no longer being served, and then told it could still be possible but with around a 90-minute wait, leaving very limited options at that time of night. The room was also located directly next to the stairs, meaning there was constant noise from guests returning late and leaving again from around 6am onwards, resulting in a poor night’s sleep. In addition, there appeared to be a leak coming from either the fan or air conditioning unit in the room.
The room was spacious and the bed was huge and so comfortable. Absolute bliss. We stayed in room 69 and it was absolutely fabulous. we had everything we could possibly need and it was spotlessly clean. The toiletries provided were my favourite too, Sea Kelp, gorgeous. Great you could open windows and if it was cold you could put the radiator on for a short while and the room warmed up very quickly. We loved this room!

The breakfast was brilliant! Lots on offer, all hot/fresh with regular refills. Each area was clean with ample staff to help if needed. Food was great & the only thing I couldn't see was hot chocolate.
Only fault with our room was 1 latch on the skylight not being able to click shut but every other part was exceptional! Clean, spacious, modern and lots of extras too. All the staff we spoke with were friendly and approachable! We had a wonderful view, extra balcony and table to sit outside with and could look out at the lakes.
We had dinner in the restaurant once and it was okay, I had a pizza which was fine (but could do with more flavour). The service was wonderful and portion sizes were fantastic.
Being VERY picky...as everything was fantastic!
No hot chocolate at breakfast, could be a good addition.
One skylight window wouldn't click shut so the vent stayed open over the bed which was a little off putting.
The pizza at dinner needs more, as it was okay but could do with more flavour as it was a bit bland.
