Fabulous location and some of the staff was very helpful and went out of their way to assist u with our train bookings and restaurant reservations.

Cons:

Few things:
1. Drinking water in the room was very restricted only 1 bottle for a day, which was i adequate as this was summer. Roomservice asked us to buy, which we did. But for such high price hotel, this looks petty.
2. We checked out early in the morning (this was pre informed) and called reception to assist us with luggae, but the phone at reception was unhooked and unavailable.

Great hotel if you do not plan to step outside of the property
Pros:

Nice and clean historic luxurious hotel. The views are great. Breakfast is decent.

Cons:

The location is in an absolute shit hole if you step outside of the property. Abandoned houses. I can’t imagine why river cruise ships would have it as their base - at least 6 of them were parked there overnight. May be it’s a convenient spot to get all the tourists on buses for surrounding vista points. Vine tasting experience also lags the American approach. Big groups of 10-15 people vs more individual in US. The beds are uncomfortable.

Great location, lovely pool area, good view from rooms

Cons:

Service very mixed (eg too 40 mins to get towels for pool and often slow drinks service). Poor dinner service, but food was good. Door to balcony needed painting.
