Room was very clean. Loved it
We were on the third floor and the street noise was something I have never experienced before. It was very loud . Even with the noise machine and ear plugs
Ebony behind reception was amazing. Forty!
No water in pool
Very welcoming. Chris was very accommodating despite my wild little ones hanging off my legs. Rooms are clean and the location is very efficient. Want to point out again how accommodating Chris was, I’ve been to a quite a few establishments and his customer service skills rival that of 5-Star Hotels. Thank you.
As a frequent traveler, I tend to take in the sights of a new city and experience the local vibe. Sometimes its great, sometimes I'm not as lucky, but my hotel stay rarely plays a part in my enjoyment of the area. The Hampton Inn Downtown Knoxville was a complete exception. We were greeted by Ebony, a rare jewel, who bent over backwards to make sure we had a great stay and took time to advise us on our trip itinerary. The rooms were clean and comfy and the amenities were above expectation, but the friendliness of the staff and location of the hotel made it feel more like a breathing part of the Knoxville experience. (As a CATS fan I wasn't expecting mutch, but I actually loved the city!!! Hats off to Knoxville) We would book here again without question.
Chris went above and beyond to make our trip memorable and special! We had never been to Knoxville before and Chris gave us many tips as to places to go see and also food to eat! We have become a Knoxville lover and will be loyal to this particular hotel as well, in the future, as we love to travel! Five stars and a shoutout to Chris!
The street noise at this hotel is outrageous! I travel a lot, and this is by far the most street noise I have ever experienced in a hotel. We were on the third floor and we might as well have been sleeping in the middle of the busy street that the room faced. I'm not talking a humming street noise. I'm talking individual cars revving their engines, loud trucks, etc. I had to sleep with earplugs and noise canceling headphones playing white noise to block it out. Other problems - I checked into one room online and upon arrival we were given a different room, which faced the street and was right outside the elevator and ice machine (never heard the elevator or ice machine over the street noise). It was red flag when they left ear plugs and a white noise machine on the nightstand. The room smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals when we checked in, the phone didn't work, the white noise machine didn't work, one of the queen beds squeaked every time you moved, one of the outlet plates in the bathroom had clearly been moved and there was only wall behind it. You could see where it used to be, where the drywall had been patched and there was only wall behind the new spot. Well, I tried to call the desk to change rooms, but the phone didn't work so I had to go back down to the desk. I was told that the room type I booked was fully sold out and that while they had a different room available, they couldn't move us to a different room type because I booked under room block for an event. The next day they offered to send maintenance, but to do what, I don't know. We were checking out early the next morning, so we just dealt with it. Never stay at this hotel unless you can fall asleep and stay asleep through extremely loud noise!
The only things that were ok at this hotel were that there was good water pressure and the room seemed clean.
We stayed one night, June 18, 2026. The woman at check in, approx 4pm, was not front desk in personality. She was a person of few words. When asked questions, she simply did not know. The room was nice and clean, which is most important at a hotel. The breakfast likely would have been nice had it been warm, the coffee was drinkable. We were only driving through. If we visit Knoxville in the future we will seek out other accommodation.
Location in proximity to convention center is great. Staff has been friendly and accommodating! Very nice Hilton from room, common areas, and staff!
Chris was great. Very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and the atmosphere was perfect. The pool not being open was a bummer but the breakfast and the quality of the room made up for it. Also Chris, at the front desk was very professional and sweet to talk to!
The people working were super sweet!!
Chris was amazing at reception helped us with all our questions and complications
I had no problems at all. I’m fact, one stand out moment that I had was because of Darshawna. She was attending the breakfast area that morning and she was very helpful with everything that I needed. She help to make my experience there at that hotel an enjoyable one.
We have been staying at the Hampton Downtown during our visits to Knoxville for several years now.
This hotel is within walking distance of a lot of the attractions one would want to visit such as the World’s Fair Park, Volunteer Landing, Neyland Stadium, and Thompson-Boling Arena.
The rooms and common areas are always clean and the complimentary breakfast is always good.
Chris, Jacob, and all the staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. They make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The only downside to staying here is the noise of the traffic on Henley Street at night (for some reason it seems to get louder at night) but there are sound machines provided to create some white noise.
All in all, it’s a great place to stay and our go to when we visit Knoxville.
Chris at the front desk check in is friendly, considerate and super helpful. Wish him the best of luck in school!
I stayed at this hotel with my daughter while visiting UT from NH. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with kindness and warmth. Once Chris at the front desk found out we were there to tour UT, he went above and beyond to share about the area and the school. The next morning we were greeting by another amazing employee, Ebony. I loved talking to her about Knoxville, UT and restaurants in the area. I work in HR and these employees are 10 stars out of 5. They made me feel like a special guest even though I'm sure hundreds of guests walk through the doors.
Once my daughter was accepted into UT, I went right online to book my stay!! I can't wait to see Chris and Ebony again.
The breakfast choices were great and the whole facility is so clean (rooms, foyer, etc). You can tell that all of the employees take pride in the hotel and make sure that every guest has a great experience.
Friendly, nice, and very helpful.
Chris was very good and upmost helpful
