We stayed at the Pullman Old Town Riga for one week and had a very pleasant stay overall.
The hotel is located right in the historic government and parliament district, which makes it a great base for exploring Riga's Old Town. Due to the location, taxis cannot always stop directly in front of the hotel, but the walk is only very short.
On the seventh floor, guests can enjoy a small swimming pool and a sauna, which are nice additions after a day of sightseeing.
We did not book breakfast, as we preferred to explore Riga and enjoy breakfast at different cafés around the city each morning.
Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay. The room was always spotless, and we appreciated the two complimentary bottles of water provided every day.
Overall, we felt very comfortable during our stay and would recommend the Pullman Old Town Riga to travelers looking for a clean, well-maintained hotel in an excellent location.
We stayed in a Superior Double Room on the sixth floor at the end of the corridor. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable, although it was smaller than expected for this category.
The only aspect we found somewhat inconvenient was the bathroom layout and size. The sink and shower area are separated from a rather small toilet compartment, which felt a little cramped.
Average hotel - it’s not really worth 5 stars. There is no immediate drop off point outside the hotel, so suitcases had to be dragged across a park to the drop off point - no hotel staff offered to assist which is what you would have expected from such a highly rated hotel.
The bar/lounge area is very small.
Our room was like a prison cell; really dark and hardly any natural light. The in-room facilities were basic, the tea/coffee was not replenished properly.
The swimming pool is a total joke - it’s a lap lane at best and even then you scrape your fingers & toes on the sides as it’s so small.
We ate breakfast in the hotel once - it was terrible! £25 euros pp is really overpriced for a very poor breakfast selection. The scrambled eggs were like rubber. Had to chase down a waiter to order off the specials menu - the potato pancakes were average at best.
On the plus side, the hotel is ideally located in the old town with plenty of really nice restaurants near-by. The room was very clean.
Belliggenhed.
Morgenmaden kunne godt være bedre.
Der manglede f.eks almindelig yogurt naturel.
The hotel is located very conveniently directly in the old town, all major sight-seeing can be done on foot.
Good restaurants are very nearby.
The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere, quiet and friendly. Check in went smooth.
There is a nice lobby and bar.
Our room was quiet (as requested) and clean. The beds (twin) were very comfortable, we slept very well. Windows can be partly opened. Beware of mosquitos though, the insect screens are there for a reason!
The room has coffee/tea making equipment, air conditioning, a nice armchair and a desk.
The bathroom has a separate toilet and a walk-in shower and enough space for two toiletry bags. Water pressure is very good. Toiletries very nice (C.O.Bigelow), with shampoo and conditioner, and of course shower gel and body lotion.
The magnifying mirror was placed so that light actually shines on your face. Fantastic!
Breakfast is good, but not 5 stars good.
I missed plain yoghurt (there was kefir and lactose-free yoghurt and fruit-yoghurts), a lot of different fruits, fried vegetables.
The fish was absolutely great though!
The food was not refilled fast enough. Every day the tea glasses were gone and I had to ask for them.
The room is a long, elongated space, with tables mid room and on one side. This brings about people constantly passing behind you when you are eating, wherever you are sitting.
There is a swimming pool and a sauna. The pool looked very nice, unfortunately we had no time to go swimming. The gym also was good, with all the basic machines and weights.
The restaurant looks nice, but has steep prices. We did not eat there, so maybe the quality justifies the prices.
All staff and personel was very friendly and helpful. And all spoke perfect English!
Tip: When you use public transport from RIX to the hotel take bus 22 till Grecinieko Iela and change there to tram 5 or 8 till stop National theater. Riga has a lot of cobble stone streets, which are not good for the wheels of your suitcase. From Nat.Theater it is a 2 minute walk to the Pullmann.
Завтрак
Отель не тянет на 5*. Транспорт, включая такси не может подъехать к отелю. Внутри номера очень маленькие, учитывая, что брали улучшенный.
