Great experience as always!
Pros:

Marco Polo is one of the most accommodating hotels I've been in. They really care about us as a customer. I went there with a partner, and booked a simple room but they upgraded us to a better room with an amazing view overlooking the city. And that was during valentines day, which was peak holiday. They greeted us warmly and the check in and check out was as seamless as could be. The room was nice, and clean. The restroom was really roomy as well and has a bidet! It was my dealbreaker and I was happy when they told me their rooms already have it.

Despite being known for being a staple in terms of luxury vacation hotels in cebu, I think it is pretty easy to identify some areas that would benefit from upgrades as well. I just wish the windows were from floor to ceiling, so you can see the view from the bed or chair. Their buffet is okay, though I wish they had larger tables and space, we were big people so we had to cramp in a single table on the side of some railings but the food was great! lots of selections. The carpet definitely needed some upgrades. But otherwise, the overall vibe of the room is great :) I wish we had time to enjoy the music in the lobby where there was live music playing in the lobby cafe.

And I would definitely book here again. Maybe even in non-celebratory days.

I liked the bed and pillows

Cons:

I stayed multiple times at Marco Polo and it is getting a bit old now. The food is also not that good anymore. Feels like a change in management happen. I called the reception maybe 3 times and out of the 3 times 2x nobody answered and I had to call again

Not good labelling or understanding of allergens. Lots of sauces with oyster or soy sauce not marked as containing gluten, meaning any gluten free options are very limited

I was really disappointed as I stayed here 15 years ago. So it was sad to see how run down it was. There was only 1 opt

A surprising find
Pros:

An old hotel located very close to the city which offers a resort style vibe. In spite of the age of the property the maintain is very good and even with few areas being under maintenance, the experience was not diminished . We will happily return to this location !
