Absolutely superb
Pros:

I was there 2 nights for a wedding. Staying in the apartment and then a de-lux room next to the bridal suite. The rooms, food, staff were all fantastic. A beautiful few days and an amazing wedding. Wedding breakfast was out of this world!!!

Cons:

A really lovely property and very friendly staff with a lovely restaurant and bar in an old stables.
Pros:

I liked the location for Beamish museum

Cons:

A lot of stairs which were hard going for an older person , it's important to request a room near reception or the restaurant outside if you can't manage longs corridors and steep stairs , I would also double check weddings aren't on as I expect it's noisey then

Very comfortable and made to feel very welcome with delicious food!
Pros:

Everything cooked perfectly

Cons:

If wanted to go downstairs from our room 108 you had to use the fire door and use the staff staircase which was very unslightly and not in keeping with the rest of the building!

Overall, pretty good but with a couple of niggles
Pros:

Excellent food (dinner & breakfast) in the Stables bar - great choice of cask beer. Lovely, friendly staff. Beds were comfortable and heating easy to control. Reasonable sized room which was clean & tidy.

Cons:

Ground floor room - people walk right past the window & look into your room - it's not great when you have to close the curtains at 4pm on a sunny day, because there's no privacy. No power sockets by the beds (which is pretty much essential these days). We requested a quiet room when booking but they didn't mention it.

Great location. Lovely people. Shame about the room.
Pros:

Stables restaurant very good. Staff were excellent.

Cons:

Beds were very uncomfortable- not fit for purpose. Wardrobe so big you could not open the door properly. Bathroom not particularly welcoming No view from the window other than a corrugated roof.

A wonderful place to stay and would definitely go back as it is a lovely peaceful place to stay with the beautiful woodl
Pros:

The surrounding area was wonderful and is if you are away from all the hustle and bustle.
Perfect for our busy weekend to have some good rest and wonderful food. I love the character of the building and brought back lots of historic memories when a member of the family worked in this building for the National Coal Board.

The restaurant/café offers amazing breakfasts for any dietary requests, afternoon teas or just café and cake but there’s a speciality Curry night offered for guests and residents by their amazing chef. The staff look after you very well. It doesn’t matter if you are a resident or a guest you feel welcomed as soon as you enter the front door of the hotel or the amazing Stable Restaurant.

I had fresh filtered water delivered twice to our room which was top class service.

Cons:

The room was lovely but the bed was a little small for us and we are not big people. I think the mattress was a bit tired and uncomfortable so didn’t sleep as well as expected.
I think all rooms should have King Size these days so an upgrade would be lovely.
