heavy machinery construction on boardering property at 7am! we were never notified of this nor discounted for this great inconvenience
Access to hotel is difficult back driveway closed off
The food they have to keep warm , Coffee hot
No milk , you have to keep asking the staff for things
Distance from my event. I LOVED the staff. They tried everything in their ability to rectify the issues. It is management and ownership that lies at fault with the issues within this property.
Smoke alarm low battery going off at 1am. Unfortunately the only staff member on site overnight did not have a key to the closet that held the ladder and replacement battery. All numbers to contact supervisors in case of emergency went unanswered for hours. Since it is a franchise there was nothing Wyndham could do. The situation was resolved immediately upon daytime shift arriving. Unfortunately it is 2 months later and the promised points and refund have not come to fruition.
Location
The personal from the front desk on were all great. They were friendly and helpful
There was insufficient lighting in the parking lot. The lot was dark, dirty, and actually frightening my sister and I had a late check-in and had a hard time finding a spot to park. We had a hard time walking and the parking lot because it was so dark and scary. the front entrance was not so pleasant also. After parking our vehicle. After check-in, we had to go back out to get our luggage and went to use our room key to get into the side door. The door was not locked, and I truly believe it was broken so it could not be locked adding to our safely feel during the evening. We did report it to the front desk and he said he’d take care of it and that people just kind of break in and hang out out there, but unfortunately, it was still not locked. When my husband and I would travel years ago we always stayed at La Quinta and never ran into this type of problem. I will never never again stay at La Quinta, this one in Latham, New York during our visit to New York friends and family would ask where we stayed and I was actually embarrassed to tell them where we stayed. I would’ve actually felt safer sleeping in the parking lot of a different establishment in my car.
Nothing ! Very poor quality!
Customer service very poor especially the front desk manager Eska!
Extremely Disappointing Stay
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a very long time, especially while traveling with my children. I paid nearly $400 for our stay and expected a clean, safe, and properly maintained room.
We were initially placed in Room 345, a King Suite with a jacuzzi. The next morning, we discovered a wasp in the room, large handprints all over the television, an unclean headboard, and an unknown substance on a light fixture. We requested to be moved.
We were then moved to Room 309, another King Suite with a jacuzzi, but unfortunately the problems continued. The shower, jacuzzi area, television, tables, and other surfaces were dirty. The bathroom was missing hand soap and body wash, and there were multiple maintenance issues, including damaged doors and fixtures.
I had to specifically request that Room 309 be cleaned, and Malina came up and cleaned the room. She and Ms. Moe were the only employees we encountered who were consistently kind, helpful, and professional.
Unfortunately, the most serious issue happened in Room 309. The flooring around the jacuzzi area was damaged and breaking apart, and I stepped on it and got a roughly two-inch splinter in my toe.
When I brought these concerns to the front desk manager, Eka, I felt dismissed and treated as though I was “nitpicking,” despite having paid nearly $400 and reporting legitimate cleanliness and safety concerns. I have the interaction recorded.
I have photos and video documenting the conditions. This was not one isolated issue—it was repeated cleanliness, maintenance, and safety problems in two different rooms, followed by an injury in the replacement room.
The only positive part of the experience was the kindness of Malina and Ms. Moe. Unfortunately, based on the overall condition of the rooms and how my concerns were handled, I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to families.
The day of check out 8-5-26 the kitchen lady was amazing. She was very nice to my children and made their day. Very friendly and brightened their morning.
The TV in my room didn’t work. Then when I called the lady at the desk told me to move the huge dresser/fridge in front of the tv try to unplug it. I paid for the room now I’m maintenance too? The pool was freezing cold. Only 4 towels in the pool. There was nobody else in there the entire day. Room was clean. Very clean. Housekeeping staff were very friendly. Hallways clean. All general areas kept in good shape.
It’s quiet
They had the same breakfast
Convenient location to where we needed to go.
Cleanliness was not consistent. I booked 3 rooms. The 2 first floor rooms were clean. The 3rd room in the upper floor was dirty - chip crumbs in the sofa bed, hairs. There was partying in the room next to our first floor rooms- staff was called and they acted on it right away but after they left, people got back to partying - like karaoke, and loud talking - til about 1:30-2am! Staff should have taken steps to follow through that the noise level was kept low after that first call.
There was nothing specific that I really liked here. Nothing stood out to me at all.
The tv barely worked, the pool was dirty, there was barely any breakfast options. They called me the morning of to tell me my room wasn’t available when I booked weeks in advanced.. then all of a sudden everything was fine.
