I had the pleasure of seeing comedian Henry Cho at the Lyric on August 22nd. I had to drive two and a half hours from home to Birmingham, so I stayed overnight at this hotel after the concert. It was only about a 20-minute drive from the hotel to the Lyric. I selected a room opposite the Interstate because I had read about the highway noise. I heard no highway noise, but the A/C unit was noisy. Earplugs are offered at the check-in desk. The bed was comfortable, and I fell asleep instantly after the concert because of the late hour and my body still being on Eastern Time. There was not enough water pressure in the shower to my liking, but plenty of hot water. If you are not comfortable with soft water, your skin will feel slippery in the shower. This Hampton Inn was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly. I always enjoy a Hampton Inn breakfast by making pecan waffles. No freshly baked cookies at this Hampton Inn, however. If I come back to Birmingham for another show at the Lyric, I may stay at this Hampton Inn again.
Close to Walmart but not to university. Staff was super night when I checked in.

Great stay. Only downside was hearing the traffic noise. Clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Priced about average.
The breakfast was fine, I was a little late so a few items were depleted but I expected that. The room was comfortable, the bathroom functional. The decor was pleasing.
The room was very humid. I'm southern, I know humidity. The AC needed a little dehumidifier to help it. The corner chair was trapped by the bed and AC unit, so I could not pull it out of the corner. I needed it elsewhere for conversation.
Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.
Their was only 1 elevator working and it was very slow. There ended up being a long wait to use the elevator.
