Highly upsetting
Pros:

I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience during my stay at Andamantra Resort. This was actually my second stay at the resort. I had previously stayed here in 2023 and had a pleasant experience, which is why I decided to book it again. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different.

I booked a total of five nights—three nights in a regular room and two nights in a one-bedroom villa. I was traveling with my wife and our two-year-old daughter.

On the first night, I boiled milk for my daughter in the electric kettle because she is a small child and needed warm milk. The next morning, housekeeping informed me that the kettle was only meant for boiling water and claimed it could no longer be cleaned. They insisted that I pay approximately 600–800 THB for the kettle. Although I found this unreasonable, I paid the amount because I did not want to argue during my family vacation.

The worst experience happened on the day of checkout.

My flight was in the afternoon, and I checked out around 9:30 a.m. The hotel had already taken a security deposit of 2,500 THB, and after deducting the kettle charge, they kept me waiting to return the balance. The reception staff repeatedly said that housekeeping was still inspecting the villa before they could release my deposit.

I repeatedly explained that I was traveling with my wife and my two-year-old daughter, that the weather was extremely hot, my child was crying, and we had to leave for the airport, which was about an hour away. Despite this, they made us wait.

After a long delay, they suddenly claimed that one of the complimentary villa slippers was missing. I clearly told them that both slippers had been left inside the villa and that we had not taken anything. However, they continued insisting that housekeeping could not find one slipper and kept us waiting for nearly two hours.

Eventually, my wife had to leave our crying daughter with me, ride back to the villa in the resort buggy, and check the room herself. W

Cons:

Within minutes, she found the so-called “missing” slipper lying in the middle of the living room, under the center table, exactly where we had left it. She took a photograph as proof and returned to the reception.

This raises a serious question: if my wife could find the slipper immediately, how could the housekeeping staff fail to find something lying in the middle of the room? It felt as though we were deliberately delayed in an attempt to withhold the remaining security deposit or pressure us into paying for an item that was never missing.

What made the experience even more concerning was that, during check-in, I witnessed another Indian family having a heated argument with the staff over similar charges related to a kettle and other items. After experiencing this myself, it no longer seemed like an isolated incident. It gave me the impression that this may be a recurring practice targeting guests who are under pressure to catch flights or continue their travel plans.

Another experience that I found completely unacceptable for a property that markets itself as a five-star resort was the way breakfast service was handled. I have traveled to many countries and stayed in numerous five-star hotels, and I have never experienced anything like this.

I completely understand and respect that breakfast has fixed operating hours. Once the breakfast service ends, it is perfectly reasonable for the staff to begin clearing the buffet and cleaning the restaurant. However, what was shocking was that the air conditioning was switched off immediately at the closing time every single day, even while guests were still seated and finishing their breakfast.

Considering the outside temperature was around 40–42°C, the restaurant became extremely uncomfortable within minutes. We were traveling with our two-year-old daughter, and it became very difficult for us to sit there even for a few more minutes. It gave the impression that guests were being made uncomfortable so they would lea

Pros:

Nothing at all. Worst.

Cons:

I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Andamantra Resort Phuket.

Despite booking two Honeymoon Suites for three nights, the service was extremely disappointing. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and showed no concern for guests. The check-in and check-out policies were completely inflexible—they wouldn't accommodate even a few extra minutes despite the premium price we paid.

The most disappointing part was when we requested to simply heat our child's food. Instead of helping, they said it would cost 100 THB just to warm it. It's hard to understand how a family-friendly hotel can charge for such a basic request.

To make matters worse, there were no complimentary water bottles or other small gestures that you would normally expect from a hotel in this price range. The overall hospitality was far below expectations.

For the amount we spent on two Honeymoon Suites, we expected professional service and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this resort failed on both counts.

I would not recommend Andamantra Resort Phuket to anyone looking for good hospitality or a comfortable family stay.
