Location was as expected. We needed to be close to our son who was moving in for college, and it was perfect.
Staff was terrible, we had several issues and Unfortunately, the staff were unable or unwilling to help with any of the issues we experienced during our stay.
First, when we arrived, we discovered that our room had only one full-size bed, rather than the queen or two queen beds we expected. When we asked the front desk for help, instead of offering alternatives, checking whether another room was available, or even suggesting that we cancel the remainder of our reservation and rebook directly with the hotel, the employee simply kept repeating, “I can’t do anything.” She seemed to have no idea how to handle the situation. Since switching hotels at that point would have been very complicated for our family, we decided to stay.
The following day, there was a water emergency and the water was shut off for approximately three hours. We understand that emergencies happen and that this was probably outside the hotel’s control. However, when we asked for information about how long the repair might take, the only response from the front desk was, “I’m sorry, maybe by 8 p.m. we’ll get it back.” Again, there was very little communication or effort to assist guests affected by the situation.
That night, the guests in the room directly above us were extremely noisy. There was constant running and stomping, and we were unable to sleep. The noise continued into the morning. At around 9 a.m., I finally called the front desk and politely asked if they could contact the guests upstairs and ask them to keep the noise down. I was shocked when the employee told me that “it would be unprofessional” for her to call them and ask them to stop. The stomping continued until those guests checked out.
Housekeeping was another issue. We were told the room would be cleaned every other day, but no housekeeping service was provided during our stay. The cleanliness of the room upon arrival was also disappointing.
My family and I had an excellent stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Gainesville while visiting for my daughter’s graduation from the University of Florida. The staff were friendly, professional, and very responsive. The hotel was clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
I had two separate bookings during our stay. One night, around 1:00 a.m., our toilet became clogged. My wife contacted the front desk, and the staff resolved the issue in less than five minutes. That level of responsiveness, especially in the middle of the night, was very impressive.
This was not my first stay at Homewood Suites, and overall, I have always had a positive experience. However, there is room for improvement, particularly with the breakfast. The selection was not a very typical of an American hotel breakfast, and on one morning there was so little available that we decided to go out and find breakfast elsewhere.
Overall, I would rate my stay 4.5 out of 5 stars. The cleanliness, spacious rooms, excellent staff, and quick response to our needs made this a very good experience. With some improvement to the breakfast options, it could easily be an exceptional stay.

The room felt like home away from home, it was comfortable, convenient, the location, the service, the entire staff from Destiny at the front desk who checked me in along with the manager all was managed very well, clean, it was pleasantly, a wonderful bedroom suite to enjoy

We stayed at the location following a large concert. The hotel was fully booked; however, the hotel was well equipped, and the location was very quiet and relaxing.
I don’t know that this was within the control of the hotel, but there was an infestation of love bugs, and there were a number of them in one of our rooms

Michael Scott, guest services mgr was very professional and patient as he was assisting a new employee on procedures. He took care of one small concern we had immediately. Because of Mr. Scott we will be staying there whenever we go to Gainesville.

Have a reservation for next weekend confirmed 5 months ago. However today they told me they have changed the price. Now the want me to pay an extra $400 us for 2 nights to keep my reservation. What is the point of the reservation if they are not going to honour it. Said there are no rooms available because of the concert that’s why they want the extra $400 us
