Quiet, immaculate modern room with bathrobe & slippers. Bed was really comfy..very friendly staff. I stayed for work on my way to Anglesey- would def stay again..
Nothing.
Lovely, friendly staff who were so willing to help.
The bed was comfy and the air con was perfect given the heat.
The pool and spa facilities made for a welcome break in the hot weather. It was lovely to get back after a day out and take a dip.
Both restaurants were great. Lovely food and Palm Court has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere.
The only thing I would say is that there was sometimes a bit of a wait to get the bill in both restaurants but to look at it another way, at least we weren't rushed!
Our room was serviced daily and left spotless.
A lovely stay and relaxing break away, it's firmly on our list for a return visit.
Honestly there isn't much.
The child friendly time in the pool got a bit busy, but given we had all day to swim and our timing coincided with their predefined slot, that's on us.
A small fridge in the room to keep milk fresh or cool water would have been a great add on but again not the end of the world.
Pool Breakfast Dinner
Beautiful hotel
Food staff and our room was amazing
It is so much nicer than in the photos. The breakfast area was beautiful. The bathrooms were lovely and clean. The AC was a welcome respite.
I only wish the kids in the pool time was slightly more accommodating.
Here's what the hotel says:
"Dogs are very welcome at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel. We allow dogs in all guest bedrooms, Nelson’s bar, and the common areas and grounds"
Here's reality - Nelsons bar is a VERY (VERY) busy pub mostly frequented by non-paying guests. So, as in our case, don't be surprised when you can't get a seat or are asked to leave your table as there is another booking. When we spoke to the hotel about our experience we were told that we could have sat in the garden (it was 10 degrees and raining !!). There is no where to have a pre-dinner/ post dinner drink if you can't use the garden and there is no service within the garden area so you need to cross an incredibly busy car park with your tipple of choice!
Here's what the hotel says about breakfast:
"Nelson’s Bar: Dogs are welcome here, and you can enjoy a more relaxed breakfast with your furry friend. It’s a cozy spot, perfect if you want to bring your dog along."
Here's reality - the pub is NOT cosy - it's big and imposing AND it's not located next to the Palm Court restaurant (which is where you find your buffet breakfast). As a dog owner you need to seat yourself in the bar and then go and fetch your own breakfast from the Palm Court restaurant which involved walking through reception into the restaurant and then along to the far corner where you find the buffet - this resulted in me and hubby eating separately as by the time he'd done the walk of shame and then I went to get mine (only to find several items had run out so I alerted staff and waited) he'd finished his!!
I personally didn't book a 4 star dog friendly hotel to find that the only place we could sit was in our room nor did I anticipate that breakfast would be Nando's style (get your own)
I would also add that whilst we were having our breakfast the cleaners were cleaning and mopping around us - not great but even worse when we realized that as the cleaner was cleaning behind us at shoulder height (as there was a sort of mezzanine) that we were getting droplets from the mop on our table!!
Having spoken to the hotel they did refund the charge for our dog - personally I think the dog had a better night / morning than us - the refund was £25 compared with a spend in excesses of £300.
Dog friendly for dogs maybe (!) - dog owner friendly absolutely NOT - this hotel needs to decide if they want return guests spending £300 a night or locals buying a burger for £20....
Perhaps rather than seeing the reservations manager over the actual hotel manager could have found time.........
Great restaurant, fabulous food and excellent choice from their set menu.
Clean and very well liked after
Not enough electric car charging points
