The hotel is located about 35/40 mins drive from the airport and practically has its own turn off and entry onto the motorway. It’s also only 15 mins to the nearest big towns while being in a lovely quiet place. When we arrived we were greeted by the reception staff and suitcases taken to our rooms. The rooms are really nice and had a balcony. You look out over the hills and the golf course. From the area at the top of the hotel which has a large pool, you can see the sea in the distance. The rooms were comfortable and have all facilities needed. There a quiet a few pools at the hotel and areas where you can just relax. Parking in the underground car park was excellent too. As a family with a 5 year old we found the pool for the small children excellent and the water is warm. Eating wise the choice of restaurants is excellent and the buffet dinner we found to be reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. The breakfast was fantastic- so much choice. You could have something different every day and feel satisfied. We ate out in melonares a few times and found the restaurants excellent and parking easy. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at the Salobre and in the maspalomas area. Thank you

Back again! Love this hotel and that’s why we keep coming back. The added bonus in July is that the golf is FREE and we like to play 4 or 5 times during our stay. Rooms are great, pools are lovely and the scenery around the hotel is stunning. Enjoyed the food and there is plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner. Will definitely be back as we just love this hotel.
The hotel is in the hills rather than in a beachside resort, there is a Spar shop at the main entrance to the resort area and a handy shuttle bus to Maspalomas during the day for the beach and Dunes and shopping. The Spar is a bit of a walk from the hotel without much shade on the windy roads, so I wouldn't recommend trying that. I love walking but wished I hadn't bothered!
The hotel is really spacious, lots of different levels and a variety of pools. Lots of food options at breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant, and good food at lunchtime at the pool bars. It's a really nice element to have both a shower and bath in the hotel rooms, and the balconies all seem to be a great size.
The spa and spa pool are really lovely, a gorgeous space and I've enjoyed every treatment I had. I haven't managed to join any classes but the gym is packed with everything you could need and there is great air con in there.
My only negatives are the lack of shade around the sunset pool, I'm so fair that I really need shade from lunchtime onwards no matter what factor I wear! It would be so great to have a brolly or shaded option on the loungers around the pool. It's my absolute favourite spot and would love to stay there all day. A few areas of the hotel are a little tired and need some attention, the sunset pool has some loose and missing small mosaic tiles here and there and could really do with fresh grout and replacement in places. Likewise one of my rooms needed a little bit of love around the internal window of the bath/shower room as there was some bubbling paint and water marks from previous leaks, and all rooms have had slight drainage issues in the bathroom. But as previous guests have said, the front desk are very helpful and quick to sort out anything where they can.
I've used the spa changing rooms to shower and get ready on my last day, that's a helpful option from the hotel as there's plenty of space to sort yourself out and repack your suitcase before heading to the airport. There's a lift down to that level within the spa too so easy to take luggage down.
Overall it is perfect for a sunny, relaxing and quiet solo break. I’ve never returned to the same place, let alone 3 times in the same year, and I am considering going again soon!
We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Salobre - our 16th time! The hotel never disappoints. We feel like it’s our home from home, the staff are so attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed the spa and 11th floor sunset pool and cabanas. My husband played golf and we relaxed from the moment we arrived. We feel the hotel offers the best of both worlds as the shuttle takes a mere 15 minutes to get down to Meloneras to walk along the long promenade or go onto the beach, but we can then return to the oasis of calm and serenity of Salobre.
Special mentions to Yanira, Claudia, Iada and Antonio who always greet us with a smile each day and are so helpful. Such a credit to the hotel!
Also a big thank you to Omar and all of the staff in the pro shop - my husband enjoyed his golf immensely!

A luxury hotel tucked up in the mountains, this isn't a beach hotel if that's what you're looking for however, what you get is feelings of exclusivity, feelings of peace and serenity whilst overlooking Gran Canaria and being surrounded by a big and beautiful golf course.
Location: 8/10 - 30 mins from the airport by shuttle bus, hotel also includes a complimenatary shuttle bus straight from the hotel to Maspalomas centre which is around 20 mins and convienient if you want to head over to the beach (or dunes)
Service: 9/10 Friendly and welcoming staff who are always looking to help, great customer service. Hotel also includes their own app which you're able to use and see what events are on and book in.
Room: 7.5/10 Had a deluxe room which was spacious and overlooked the many pools in the hotel as well as the environment outside of the hotel. The bed was comfy, shower included a bath and was big, standard tv but had some issues with connecting to netflix.
Food: 9/10 - Wide selection of food for morning breakfast, catering to all types and dinner included different themes every night with quality food served (options of steak, different types of fish and having ripe mango every morning was a welcomed addition)
Value for Money: 9/10 - First hotel i would go back to and definitely recommend to others. It's not your 'typical' gran canaria hotel, but that's the appeal, its a lovely getaway resort with multiple pools to enjoy, a rooftop pool and bar area where you can overlook gran canaria or stay up until dark looking at the stars (if thats your thing). The guests ranged from young to older, to coouple and family so it caters to everyone. One word i would use to describe the hotel is 'Luxury', not a whole lot of activities within te resort but if you want peace, serenity and quality... this is it.
Best resort holiday ever! I cannot emphasise how AMAZING this hotel is! I’m a clean freak & the place is massive but yet always clean!
The rooms all had balconies & were well laid out with a feeling of separate sections. There is a safe & a fridge too! They replenished the water bottles everyday when they cleaned.
My daughter & I love spas & the spa was brilliant. Pool overlooked the mountains & had sauna/steam rooms too. Lots of jacuzzi bubbles from the beds submerged into the pool & the side of the pool.
My son loves swimming. He had so many pools to choose from! Often finding he was the only one in the little pools. The sunset pool is just for adults & was jaw dropping! Beds on the top to view sunsets were incredible! There’s even a secret pool!
My partner loves golf-so he had a lovely time too. We went as a family to the driving range & putting green! It was so fun!
The 4 of us all agreed the food was delicious! We were half board so had so much choice for breakfast & dinner & ordered at the restaurants for lunch. The food was well thought out…well cooked & flavoursome. The steaks were cooked on demand however you wanted! It was so impressive! As were the eggs, fish & smoothies made esp with whatever you wanted!
There was always something to do-go to S Club to listen to live music, go to the gym, go for a stroll, go & view the roof top sunset, go to the kids area (if you have little ones), sit on the loungers, do golf or just borrow games & cards at the reception to play on your balcony! Even just walking around the hotel (which is extensive) takes a while! And there’s plenty of seating areas & phenomenal views! We didn’t try the yoga or the other restaurant at the entrance but lots of good reviews about that aswell.
The thing that also stood out from other places we have stayed was the staff. Everyone from the cleaner, to reception, to the spa, to the restaurants was so helpful! Throughout the hotel they interacted with you when walking past. They were so friendly! Our favourite member of staff was Lamine in the restaurant! He was exceptionally friendly & attentive. But all the staff were amazing! Even the other guests seem quiet, respectful & calm. It was just a lovely place to be.
The staff organised the airport transfers for us, (airport is only 20 mins drive), I just emailed them a few weeks before we arrived & someone met us at the airport. It was really straightforward. They aLeo arranged a taxi to our camel activity in the sand dunes.
We wanted a relaxed slow paced holiday & this totally exceeded all our expectations!
They gave us a courtesy room & held our luggage on the last day for an hour as our flight was later in the evening. So we managed to have a swim & somewhere to shower & dress before leaving for our flight.
We all agreed this was the BEST holiday we have had! So sad to leave. Honestly book this hotel!

Now for a little moan, the sunset bar is absolutely outstanding either way the best views you could ever ask for, why does the bar close at 6pm? I could easily see this bar serving cocktails/champagne with a live singer as the sun goes down!!!

Bravo, vraiment bravo à l’ensemble du personnel, et bien évidemment au management que l’on ne voit pas, mais qui est visiblement au top.
Que ce soit le personnel d’entretien ou le personnel en cuisine, ils sont tous particulièrement bienveillant et soucieux du confort du client. C’est remarquables !
L’ensemble des trois repas sont succulents ! Les produits proposés permettent de garantir de satisfaire toute la famille, sans se lasser, même au bout de deux semaines de vacances chez vous ! Bravo, la gastronomie est au top.
Pouvoir changer les serviettes de piscine si nécessaire, et aussi un plus qui a son importance.
La chambre que nous avons eu avec sur notre demande étage élevé et vue golf a parfaitement été respecté. La chambre était très confortable et parfaitement bien équipée avec de l’eau minérale, mise à disposition tous les jours.
Avoir des places de stationnement à l’ombre est aussi un plus.
Le doux parfum lorsque nous arrivons à la réception et très agréable.
Bonne surprise de voir mises à disposition des prises de rechargement électrique pour les véhicules.
Proposer deux restaurants pour le midi à la fois en bord de piscine et un peu plus au calme est agréable.
La piscine située au 11e étage pour les tout-petits, mériterait d’être réaménagée, à la fois en transat, en parasol et aux abords de la piscine.
L’évacuation des fumées au cours des repas du dîner est totalement à revoir.
Les grillades émettent des fumées désagréables à la fois à l’intérieur du restaurant et même jusqu’au quatrième étage lorsque nous retournons vers les chambres.
Les places de parking sont devenues étroites face aux véhicules aujourd’hui en circulation qui sont de plus en plus larges.
Pour nous qui sommes déjà venus dans dans votre établissement, nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise de ne pas pouvoir profiter des deux piscines qui sont aujourd’hui réservé au programme et Esencia.
Il aurait été appréciable d’avoir à disposition des fontaines d’eau pour le repas du midi et du soir.
