The very worst hotel that I’ve never ever experienced before. Booked a 1 night thru Wyndham website at Baymont hotel in Galveston for a mobile room. I was assigned rm 119. As a Diamond member I was greeted as one. Got to the room it smelt like a public toilet with strong pungent urine smell. Called the front desk, the front desk came to inspect with a deodorant spray can. She came in she immediately said it smelt so awful and started to spray but the urine smell was covered the entire so the spray did not help but she did not suggest or offer a room change. She started to return. I immediately stopped her & insisted to change room because it was so suffocating. She thought about it & and went back to the front desk to look for one. I did not get a call so went to the front desk and asked what happened. She told me she changed my room 119 to 102. Room 102 had no smell but the next morning I got bed bug bites on my arms & body. But the embarkation time was near on May 24 (8 days cruise) so got no time to file formal complaint with Wyndham Customer Care. I suffered the bed bug bites through my cruise. After debarking on May 31 I immediately called Wyndham to file a formal complaint. Unfortunately this Wyndham Customer Care was so negligent & lazy & unprofessional to mention bed bug bites on the complaint even though I mentioned to her several times. The next day the hotel mgr got the nerve to stoop down too low to blame on the plumbing issue. That was a low life down liar. No plumbing problem it was a problem of the unprofessional & insanitized the room carpet. The carpet was completely covered with urine & others. This low life down liar manager refused to refund. This low life manager was an unprofessional, incompetent LIAR. If I knew I could get back my refund I would leave this infest bed bug & urine smell hotel immediately without a second thought. Unfortunately I did not know so I stayed & suffered with bed bug bites. Many hotels in Galveston got the reputation of infested bed bugs. The Wyndham customer care was so incompetent & down lazy unprofessional did not do a damn thing to rectify my situation. I despised these Wyndham customer care specialist. Strongly advise no one to book this hotel, you will be treated very badly especially this low life manager.
How close it was to the seawall and restaurants
It was a nice quiet stay
The lighting was good in half the room.
One of the staff members humiliated me in front of another guest when I tried to verify my check out. Stating loudly, "YOU DONT KNOW WHEN YOU CHECKOUT" "IM CONFUSED" I turned and walked away.
Another staff member at 5:00 am was at the desk. I could smell the brewing coffee and when I entered the dining hall shot over like I was trespassing.
We are guests not inmates!
All others were very accommodating as well as the cleaning staff were very sweet.
It was clean the room was spacious for the price, having a balcony was the cherry on the top.
The breakfast could be improved.

Alejandro was great at helping me set up my reservation&checking in as well, he answered all my questions, very professional&helpful! Will definitely be booking again!
My only complaint would be the options for breakfast. Not a whole lot and it was the whole reason we chose this hotel over others. This was not breakfast it was some cold items and a waffle maker.

Update the carpet to new flooring would make a difference.
