Pros:

The staff is always helpful and friendly and even accommodating for us, like when we asked for late check out the day we were supposed to check out due to my health. Even though they had a large group coming in and would have to clean our room last minute they still said yes. Breakfast is always good and the gentleman that was restocking the food each morning greeted us and always asked if we needed help and asked if we had all we needed.

Cons:

There were a couple downsides one is that the bedding and one of the pillows had a few stains and the fitted sheet had a hole in it. Another is I could hear housekeeping going to every room down our hallway except ours they never once came to our door, we had to go ask for fresh towels and such. And finally I believe they were remodeling a room next to ours and decided to use power tools or a drill rather late in the evening when everyone was off in dreamland and scared the life out of me and my kids because it was so loud and unexpected. But those few inconveniences while usually never happens to us at this hotel didn't take away from the friendly staff, the free breakfast, or my kids getting to swim in the pool.

Pool dirty, might be off season?
Breakfast not great.
Was immediately told no smoking marijuana but a pungent scent on our floor. Not that I care it was just the first thing they said.
Dirty floors, windows.
The welcome mats had stains and that’s what threw me off initially.

Friendly Staff with a very nice handicapped room.
Pros:

Due to my scheduling I was finally able to get it straightened out and the staff worked with me by saving my current room which was for a handicapped person . The handicapped room was the last one available at the time and I could not have found another in this prime location.i

Cons:

The only thing that bothered me, was it was a long walk from the front desk to my room.

We love Gardendale, but felt like we were in a sketchy part of town. We’re from the Gardendale area and never knew there
