From the moment you arrive at The Westin Valencia, you immediately get the impression of a nice and well-established five-star hotel. It is clear that the property has been around for some years, so the interiors and overall atmosphere do not necessarily reflect the latest design trends. Nevertheless, the hotel is well maintained, elegant, and very pleasant overall.
One of the nicest features is the beautiful inner courtyard, which includes a small garden and provides access to some of the hotel’s restaurants. It is very well kept and creates a relaxing atmosphere, which adds considerably to the charm of the property.
The rooms are very spacious, which we appreciated, although they also show their age. The furniture, wardrobes, and some of the fixtures feel somewhat dated. Everything is generally well maintained, but not to an exceptional standard. A renovation would certainly help bring the rooms more in line with the expectations of a modern five-star hotel.
The staff, however, were consistently excellent. Everyone we encountered was courteous, friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. This was definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points.
We also particularly appreciated the location. The hotel is not right in the city centre, but for us this was actually an advantage. It is far enough away from the busiest areas to offer a quieter and more relaxed environment, while the centre is still easily reachable on foot in around 20 minutes. There are also several parks nearby and plenty of activities in the surrounding area. Overall, we found it to be a very strategic base for exploring Valencia, both towards the historic city centre and in the direction of the sea.
Breakfast was another positive aspect of our stay. The buffet is not exceptionally extensive, but it is well curated and well prepared, with a good selection of quality options. The breakfast room itself is also very pleasant, spacious, bright, and airy, making it a lovely way to start the day. The service was also very good.
A special mention goes to Pedro, who looked after us throughout our three-day stay. He was extremely kind, professional, attentive, and consistently welcoming. His attitude really contributed to making our stay more enjoyable.
We also had the opportunity to dine at the hotel in the evenings, as we were attending a wedding there. The food was consistently good, with dishes that were well prepared, nicely presented, and enjoyable overall. This was another positive part of our experience.
Overall, we would certainly recommend The Westin Valencia. It may not be the most contemporary five-star hotel in terms of design and rooms, but it offers a pleasant atmosphere, spacious accommodation, very friendly staff, a great location, and a generally good standard of service. In terms of value for money, prices can perhaps feel a little high during certain periods of the year, but given the five-star positioning and Valencia’s popularity, this is understandable.

I am writing this review as a professional conference organizer, not a leisure guest. IMR International, a two-person firm based in San Diego with 25 years of experience, organized a conference at the Westin Valencia on April 26–28, 2026, bringing over €100,000 in confirmed revenue to the hotel.
Before signing the event contract, we received clear verbal and written (email) confirmation of two compensation items: complimentary room nights and a 10% organizer's commission. Under time pressure at signing, we trusted the final contract reflected all agreed terms and did not notice both items had been omitted.
The hotel honored the complimentary room nights — thereby acknowledging the validity of the pre-contract agreement — but refused to pay the agreed 10% commission (approximately €10,000), citing the signed document.
When we indicated we would inform industry partners of this dispute, the hotel's outside legal counsel sent a threatening email accusing us of lies, hoaxes, and misinformation, and threatened legal proceedings if we spoke publicly about it.
We escalated to Marriott International's CEO and senior leadership. No resolution was reached.
Notably, we held the same conference at this same hotel in 2012 and received our commission without issue. That prior experience is why we trusted the Westin Valencia again in 2026.
Every statement above is factual and documented. A full public record of this dispute is available from IMR International San Diego.

Very friendly staff. Amazing location. The most beautiful breakfast room ever. And also a very good breakfast. Dog friendly and ideally next to this big park in the city. Perfect. Also a garage for my car. Room service was also good and the pool and steam room wonderful.
The rooms could be a little bit more modernized.
Tout, personnel extra, la restauration super, la bâtisse fabuleuse! Je recommande!
Mais nous le connaissions. Donc toujours aussi fabuleux !
