Cons:

One disappointing aspect of the stay was the payment process. At check-in, the hotel placed two large pre-authorisations on my card for our two rooms. At check-out, the full amount was then charged separately, while the original pre-authorisations remained blocked for several days. This effectively meant that I had to have twice the cost of the rooms tied up for a significant part of my holiday. I understand that hotels may require a guarantee, but this felt unnecessarily inconvenient and was not clearly explained. For a hotel of this standard, I would expect a smoother and more customer-friendly payment process.

Heel fijn verblijf in een goed en luxueus hotel.
Pros:

Het hotel was volledig in orde. Vriendelijk personeel, luxueuze kamer, goede douche, fijn zwembad, zalig ontbijt op een heel mooi terras in een gezellige tuin. Ook een heel goed restaurant. Goede uitleg van de conciërge over mogelijke uitstappen. Kortom, een heel fijn verblijf. Aan te raden. Valencia is een prachtige stad. Nog niet alles gezien, dus moeten we nog eens terug gaan. Dan boeken we weer in The Westin.

Important information: We are a German couple living in Germany. When we arrived, we wanted to make the payment, but they told us that payments over 1000 Euros are not accepted. However, by law this only applies to Spanish citizens, not to us — we are tourists, after all. And when we told the staff working there that we are German and that the limit for us is 10,000 Euros, they said, "You may have a German ID, but you could be living in Spain." I replied, "If I were actively living in Spain, why would I come to a hotel?" They make inconsistent, absurd, and prejudiced comments. We understand that staff are trying to do their job, but in this case, since the staff member was not doing their job but rather making personal comments, we are writing this review this way.

Anyway, we were told it was a king room, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the room in the photos. You will understand this yourselves when you book the room — there is no resemblance whatsoever between the rooms. Another issue was the staff's attitude — it was not at all like a five-star hotel. We have always stayed at five-star or seven-star hotels, but we had our worst experience here. The restaurant staff, however, were quite good.

If it weren't for Booking, we wouldn't have been able to sort out the reservation payment. Thanks to Booking, we still managed to complete our stay, but this is definitely not a hotel we would ever choose to stay at again.

When checking out, we recorded videos of everything, including the rooms. The staff are not friendly, and the hotel is not at the level you would expect — it feels more like a three-star hotel rather than a five-star one. For example, there was someone filming our door. We asked why, and when we called reception, they said they might have been recording the sound of the dogs.

Not as good as expected
Pros:

The hotel grounds are lovely, as are the public areas.

We had some experiences that were less than expected: the first room we were given was fine but the shower is a handheld that created a lake in bathroom, when put in the holder on wall. Really designed to be just bath. Avoid room 256.
Second room 216 was much better - walk in shower plus tub.

We were unimpressed by Housekeeping. There was no turn down service either night, in spite of it being expected. After the flood in bathroom, it took 2 calls to get help.

It’s a good hotel with very nice staff. But not up to level expected of Westin.

Great location, atmosphere and feeling of calm.
Pros:

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome, the rooms were so spacious, clean and everything we needed was either there or obtainable. The gardens were amazing and very relaxing.

Cons:

Unless I missed it maybe an adult only time. During the day in the pool as it was quite noisy at one point and lots of splashing and yelling, so I left.

Pros:

The food in the hotel restaurant was very good. The front desk staff were very nice and the concierge desk was very helpful.

Cons:

The aircon in the rooms was not very strong, the furniture was noticeably worn out, and for the rates being charged, for breakfast not to be included was very disappointing. The options at breakfast were very light and the eggs at breakfast weren't prepared well at all the entire week.

"Una experiencia muy decepcionante para ser un hotel de 5 estrellas. La insonorización de las habitaciones es pésima: una fiesta en el exterior nos impidió conciliar el sueño hasta las 3 de la mañana. Agradecemos el gesto del 20% de compensación, pero nuestro objetivo era descansar del viaje y no se cumplió. El desayuno también dejó bastante que desear por su escasez. Aunque el resto de los servicios funcionó bien, la falta de descanso hace que no lo recomiende en absoluto."
