The hotel is lovely in beautiful gardens, and in a great location. A lovely atmosphere great seating area outside with beautiful views of the gardens. Rooms are lovely spotless clean and with very good complimentary items . Had a great night sleep very quite and a very comfy bed. The staff are pleasant and friendly the service is very good. The evening meal we had was excellent, the quality and presentation was fantastic, breakfast was great good poached eggs. This is the fourth time we have stayed here and never been disappointed with anything. I would highly recommend
Thank you for our lovely stay
We attended a wedding here and stayed over. The room was lovely and very comfortable.
The staff were excellent and everyone had a fabulous time.
My only criticism would be is trying to communicate with the hotel prior to arrival. I did not receive any response to my telephone message or email, nor could I get through to the venue on the phone I was trying across for 3 days.
A wonderful afternoon tea with family.
The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They helped to make the occasion really memorable.
Thank you.
Clean and spacious room. A fan was provided which was very much needed. Great breakfast and staff serving breakfast were very good.
Nothing to dislike
The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. There was plenty of coffee, tea, milk, water and biscuits. Plenty of parking. Most of staff were helpful and friendly.
Room 22 had terrible WiFi. It was vertically unusable. When checking out I was not asked how my stay was. I complained about the lack of WiFi. Sadly the breakfast was quite unpleasant. Warmed up bacon that tasted off. I could smell it as soon as the waitress brought my plate over. How this got past the chef and the waitress is gob smacking.
A guest was doing a conference call on his laptop at breakfast. Very rude.
Excellent hotel, room (#1) was amazing clean, comfortable, a good size and full of character. Hotel grounds are breathtaking, staff were great. If I had one complaint it’s that breakfast is advertised until 10am we booked for 10am and there was nothing left on the buffet side.
Room was lovely - spacious, quiet and comfy. Bonus to be able to charge the car overnight. Grounds were beautiful.
Breakfast was disappointing. Staff forgot to seat me at a table. Bacon, Granola and pastries all empty and had to ask for more to be fetched. Toaster produced anaemic or burnt toast, butter on the table was solid and unspreadable.
No one at reception/anywhere when I tried to check out so I just left the key and went.
Reception staff at checkin was friendly. I could not find the bar and had to ask other guests where to go!
In my room, the shower room smelt very musty/mouldy. No ventilation???
This is a beautiful Grade 2 listed house with a very nice quiet atmosphere. Glad I don't have to pay the business rates on it...
Being on half board I was a little unsettled about the limitations on the menu on this Tarif. The choices we made added £65 to the bill over the three nights - probably a little optimistic to expect too much with the financial pressures the owners must be under given the state of the UK.
Good breakfast. Excellent location.
Staff very friendly and barman Tom was kept very busy. Maggie and May were perfect hosts at breakfast.
The location was beautiful and the hotel itself was a step back in time and an appreciation for traditional styles.
The hotel room needs tlc. Decor needs refreshed, windows need fixed, new linen is needed as ours was well worn with holes etc
Stayed on a hot day, and there isn't any air con, but they didn't have any fans to provide so the temperature of the room was uncomfortable.
Love this hidden gem, the grounds are beautiful & love the traditional style hotel which hasn’t been spoiled or replaced by anything modern 😊
Nothing!

Room was a little shabby but clean
