Clean hotel with good location
Pros:

Location was very good, very close to subway and stores / restaurants nearby. Still far enough from the mass crowds of Times Square and the like. Very clean and spacious rooms and friendly staff. For the people that like to workout: they don’t have a gym but you free access to the fully equipped gym across the street.

Cons:

Our room was in the back and faced a wall of the building next to it so we did not have any sunlight making the room dark even during the day (typical NYC…). Also quite some noise from the AC units outdoor and the ventilation shaft of the building itself, not ideal if you are a light sleeper. Also the “double” beds are small (140 cm) - it’s ok for kids but for two adults it’s too small.

Leuk, simpel, goede ligging en een heel vriendelijk hotel.
Pros:

Het personeel is super vriendelijk.
Hotel ligt op een goede locatie om als uitvalsbasis te gebruiken. Penn Station is om de hoek. Er is ook een metro ingang direct in de straat. Vrijwel alles is op loopafstand. Wij liepen ook naar het financial district, dit raad ik echter af ;) .
Als je het hotel voor een leuke prijs kan boeken is het absoluut een aanrader.

En een extra applausje dat ze geen verborgen kosten hebben zoals resort fees. Dat moet gezegd worden aangezien de rest van de Amerikaanse hotel business alleen dollars in hun ogen hebben.

Trouwens, zonder dat ze het wisten hebben ze mijn debitcard gebruikt. Amerikanen verwachten een Creditcard ;) Ook dit werkte gewoon zolang er een chip op zit.

Ze slaan ook volledig gratis je bagage veilig op waarvoor ze echt voldoende plek hebben voor iedereen.

Al met all super ervaring gehad.

Cons:

Ik vind de kamer te karig aangekleed. Er was een kleine print van Mount fuji. Maar bij het andere bed was er niets. Hierdoor leek het net of het maar half is afgemaakt. Verder is het gewoon heel saai grijs.

Helaas hebben de goedkopere kamers niet zo een leuke stoom kast.

Ik snap dat het typish Amerikaans is, maar een douchegordijn vind ik niet passend in een hotel. Ook mis ik als Europeaan de wc borstel. Ik schaamde me beetje voor de strepen ;)

Doekjes werden steeds gewisseld. (Goeie service dat wel) Maar ik deed ze expres ophangen, dit staat ook op de bordjes als je milieu wil sparen. Ik hoef niet steeds een nieuw doekje.

I’ll be back
Pros:

The Dino is so cute, my kiddos love it! Staff was very kind and accommodating. Rooms were clean. I loved the bidet! Location was walkable to nearly anything and the street cleaners in the morning kept the street clean.

Loveky hotel in a great location for exploring the city
Pros:

Stayed here previously. Spacious rooms and well equipped. Staff welcoming and efficient. Plug in bathtub was broken and the safe locked us out but the staff sorted the issues straight away

Cons:

There’s no bar or lounge area but it didn’t really matter as rooms were spacious and very comfortable

Almost perfect
Pros:

I hadn't expected much from this quirky hotel with a dinosaur in the lobby, but it exceeded all expectations. The room was very thoughtfully designed and spacious, everything was open and clean. It was my first time using an LG styler and it was amazing. The hotel is located just a couple blocks from Amtrak at Penn Station and 3 blocks from Javits Convention Center. The hotel staff were helpful and mostly friendly. Luggage storage was convenient (luggage got jailed haha). There was even an umbrella provided!

Cons:

My main complaint is finding hairs tangled in the clean towels. I don't doubt the towels were clean (they smelled and felt fine) but it definitely looked like the hair got washed into them and I had found them on 3.

The street below was also surprisingly loud considering how high up I was, so if you're sensitive to sounds you may want to consider earplugs.

A solid Midtown find in NYC
Pros:

This was a fun midtown find. It's a Japanese-inspired hotel, complete with Japanese toilets in the room and a Japanese restaurant. The staff was super kind, and the hotel is within easy walking distance to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, and even Times Square. It's also literally right next door to Best Bagel, which is an excellent breakfast spot. The room we had was a great size for NYC, as well.

Cons:

We had a room facing W. 35th, and it was quite noisy at night and early in the morning; the soundproofing on the windows isn't great. The ice machine (there's only one) also wasn't working for me when I went to get water and ice, though it worked for my friend the next day so that was perhaps a fluke. We also were in town during several big events (US Open and Harry Styles concerts), so the nightly rate was pretty high for what you get.
