The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked really well, nice walk in shower, mini K cup coffee maker in room, and decent breakfast.
Area around hotel is ify, but hotel felt safe.
The location that it was downtown
Everything, the staff wasn’t concerned about my issues with my room. They didn’t want to provide a refund so we can find somewhere else to stay. They acted if I was apart of their staff and not a guess. The worst hotel ever.
Close to downtown
Air didn't seem to be working in the lobby or elevators. It was very hot. Our bed had what appeared to be mold and a very large dirty brown stain. Our tub had someone else's hair in it.
The AC unit in the first room was squealing very loud, so we requested another room. They gave us a new room number, and when I unlocked the door with the key, someone else’s things were already in there; so I quickly went back to the front desk which assigned us a different new room. This new room was fine for the first night, but the key scanner on the door died the next morning; so they had to “break into” the room and move us to a new room for the second night. All in all, we had three separate rooms in a two-night stay, and the front desk caused me to walk in on someone else’s room while they were away.
Poor service, wouldn't let me check in until "payment was made" but I had paid in advance, showed clerk as such and i still had to get in touch with booking.com customer service to have them call and handle it because the hotel clerk insisted they hadn't been given the virtual credit card payment, the clerk called her management and I heard her repeat back when they told her it was on file and talk her through finding the virtual card to check me in. This took an hour. She then proceeded to lie to me and say it was an error on booking.com side. In the middle of all this, she put booking.com on hold to talk to another customer who asked to use a bathroom and she responded, "we don't have a restroom open to the public. That one is kind of locked."
Didn't get her name, she had no name tag. Empty beer can in the elevator when I came in, still there when I left. Coffee spilled in the common area, left all night.
The bed was comfortable
No microwave in the room. The toilet was not sturdy.
The elevator button was broken on the fifth floor. The breakfast was horrible
The property was located in the medical district of Memphis, this was convenient because there are plenty of restaurants, stores and more close by.
The property is very old. The size of the elevators were ridiculously small, the bedding had rips and holes in it, the shaded blind was torn and also had a hole in it, there were horrible gnats and flies and an awful smoke smell in the room. The hotel looks poorly built.
Check in staff were non communicative and slow, check-in area was dirty and staff was eating/sitting out-of-sight behind tall counter and could have easily been cleaning the area. Observed this as we came and went for a few hours. Breakfast/common area need glass doors, and area cleaned. Breakfast was below Best Western quality and 35 minutes late with the attendant microwaving breakfast items including biscuits to heat them up. Check in front desk staff were not friendly, positive, motivated, professional like other Best Western Plus Hotel staffs. One positive note is the room was clean. The razor wire above the parking lot fence speaks to the area the hotel is in.
Friendly staff, Clean room, Cold AC
Location is good but don’t leave at night
