The worst experience ever.
Pros:

There was not a single thing I liked, or even anything that made my stay here slightly better. Well, except for the pineapple and salmon at breakfast — but I’ll get to that later.

Cons:

The condition of the room was worse than a €20 hostel or dormitory. All the furniture was damaged, there were stains on the walls and floor, dust on the bed, walls covered in dents and damage, and above the bed there was mold mixed with dust that clearly had been collecting for years. The faucet was broken, and the shower drain did not work properly.

But that was not even the worst part.

On the first day of my stay, I sent two emails to the hotel. And then, do you know what happened? A staff member broke into my room while the “Do Not Disturb” sign was hanging on the door. When I asked reception who it was, they told me they had come “to document the damages” because of my email. So instead of apologizing or offering any solution, they were more interested in documenting the problems.

Also, on the first day, I returned during housekeeping hours and found my room left completely open while the cleaner was somewhere else at the other end of the corridor. Literally anyone could have entered the room.

On the second day, I again put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, and the same cleaner spent around 40 minutes talking on the phone directly outside my room before once again entering the room while I was lying in bed.

As I mentioned above, breakfast had salmon and pineapple, which were probably the only decent things here. But on the third day, I had to leave at 7:30 AM, exactly when breakfast started, so I asked for a breakfast box to take away. And do you know what they gave me? One apple, one tiny waffle, and a sandwich, while saying “I will do my best.” No water, no yogurt, no proper fruit, no real carbohydrates or protein.

And finally, although the hotel is technically located in the city center, the area around it is full of homeless people, construction noise, dirt, and chaos.

I genuinely would never recommend this place to anyone — and after this experience, probably not the entire Leonardo Hotels chain either.

Excelnte opción en Budapest
Pros:

Buena ubicación, en el centro de Budapest, al lado del metro y bus al aeropuerto. La habitación fue amplia, bien equipada con dos TV, personal amable. Buen desayuno.

Great location, and in terms of price performance, it’s good enough. But overall, it’s just a fairly basic hotel.

Cons:

We couldn’t open the windows in the room, and our room was facing an inner courtyard with construction work. We eventually had to specifically request a key to open the windows because the room had become very stuffy. The reception staff also weren’t particularly friendly.

The room was spacious (we were generously offered a free upgrade to a larger room and were also able to check in early. What an amazing welcome. Thanks Again. The location was absolutely fantastic. The breakfast was excellent with a huge variety.
