Breathtaking
Pros:

The location was sensational. The hotel is on a cliff and it’s very close to the water. The property is beautiful. The room is a little bit outdated but no issues. Nice and comfortable.

Great Staff, Great View, 5 Star Experience!!!
Pros:

First off a big shout out to the amazing staff at the hotel, they were incredibly nice, patient and accommodating. They helped with all of our needs on the trip and without them we would not have maximized our stay. Our room was as nice as advertised and the views were breathtaking. The pool had an amazing view as well and the food was very good overall. Bonus was I received the best massage I have ever gotten.

Beautiful hotel with staggering views, great staff and food.
Pros:

The hotel is in a fantastic location; it is built into a gorgeous hillside. The restaurant (Il Franchino) is amazing (and the breakfast spread was unexpectedly good). The rooms were clean and well appointed. Not large by US standards, but sizable for Europe).

The rooftop infinity pool is really great. Davide, the pool bar attendant was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The elevator situation is not great (one tiny and slow elevator for the hotel). We had an air conditioning challenge one night in one of our rooms.

Customer service is alive and well in this beautiful Hotel!
Pros:

What a fantastic hotel. This place is beautiful and so clean it feels like everything is new. The staff were so helpful and friendly. David at the pool bar could not do enough for us, so pleasant and customer focused. The restaurant staff at breakfast were courteous and kind nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were really helpful full of information warm and friendly. They made us feel like family friends. Location was great away from the crowds of Positano and Amalfi so peaceful, no noise but close enough to visit the other towns very easily. Rooms were beutifully decorated with colourful ceramics. Airconditioning was excellent. There are at least 5 restaurants within easy walking distance and all had a great vibe at night. Just a fantasic place made so enjoyable by the hard working and dedicated staff. I would stay here again 100%

If you’re coming to Amalfi, you should deffo consider this hotel.
Pros:

Location is perfect for doing all of Amalfi.
The staff were incredible.
The views are insane.
The facilities are great.
The restaurant is insane.

Cons:

I would like a better standard of room for the money - and move the aircon away from the bed.

Incredible Honeymoon Stay
Pros:

Truly can't say enough good things about our stay at Hotel Onda Verde. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for our honeymoon, and it blew our expectations away! It is beautiful, and every staff member is lovely and goes above and beyond to make your stay incredible. 10/10 would recommend. We will be back!

Amazing experience
Pros:

My time at this hotel was absolutely amazing. My partner and I went for 3 nights/4 days and we did not want to leave. The rooms are spacious and the views are incredible. There is a private beach access and a few italian/ seafood restaurants walking distance. Positano is a 15min drive away by taxi or you can take a water taxi which is around the time distance. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and they have great recommendations on where to go outside of the hotel. A lot of family owned restaurants by the beach area and they are so sweet and love tourists! The hotel has a small pool with ocean views from the deck, amazing mimosas made by david! he was so sweet and attentive. We want to come back already! Our favorite hotel in italy so far. You can also book excursions like boat tours, etc which was cool!

It was a wonderful, quiet romantic stay for our honeymoon, very friendly staff!
Pros:

Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and cliff-sides. Breakfast was included and there were so many options and it was all so good, they have the best cappuccinos!!! Location was great for access to the Marina di Praia Beach, the main town center of Praiano was further away but we enjoyed that it was quieter. The air conditioning in the room worked very well.

Cons:

The only thing I wish was there was a place to fill our water bottles up.

Wonderful Amalfi Coast experience!
Pros:

Stunning hotel! From the moment we got there we knew it would be a wonderful visit. We had two rooms, one for our teenagers and one for my husband and myself. Gorgeous views. Breakfast was amazing! View was our favorite to look out and see the boats in the beautiful blue waters while drinking cappuccino. So close to the marina which made it easy to get to the boat and water taxi into Positano. Good value considering some places in Positano are more expensive but less value and views. Very clean. Would return for sure! We loved David at the bar. He was the sweetest guy ever! Lots of honeymooners so having teens with us was a little unusual. But I would say it is still a good place for a family with older kids but not younger kids.

A Disturbing Stay Marked by Mismanagement and Unacceptable Standards

⭐ Hotel Onda Verde – A Stay Ruined by a Broken Room, Misleading Management, and Poor Hygiene

My stay at Hotel Onda Verde in Praiano from 15–17 July was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had on the Amalfi Coast, and I strongly urge future guests to reconsider booking here.

The air‑conditioning in my room was broken for the entire stay. Across two days, staff attempted multiple quick fixes, none of which worked. The temperature swung between stifling heat and freezing cold, making sleep impossible. Two nights of exhaustion and discomfort is not what anyone expects from a hotel positioning itself as a premium property.

Unfortunately, the poor experience didn’t end there. The duty manager, Francesco, was not only unhelpful but obnoxious and dismissive. He attempted to convince me that he was the senior manager over all staff, insisting that my complaint would “go no further.” The tone was condescending, clearly aimed at shutting down the issue rather than resolving it. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in hospitality, especially when a guest is raising a legitimate concern.

Breakfast was another low point. All the fruit was covered in fruit flies, and much of the food was left exposed. For a hotel charging premium rates, basic hygiene should not be optional. It was genuinely off‑putting.

To make matters worse, when I raised the impact of the faulty room at checkout, I was told there would be no compensation whatsoever. No apology, no gesture of goodwill, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience — nothing.

For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury Amalfi Coast property, this level of service, hygiene, and accountability is far below standard. I left feeling ignored, disappointed, and absolutely unwilling to return. There are many wonderful hotels along the coast; this is not one of them.
