A beautiful, comfortable luxury hotel that struggles to maintain the finer details of luxury service.
Pros:

The location is fantastic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, valet staff was awesome and the spa is amazing.

Cons:

There were little things that added up to impact our stay: tv didn’t work, ordered Champaign & cheese tray upgrade on delivery that wasn’t delivered, but charged, hot tubs not working one day, crooked blinds in room, shower had two temps-extra hot or freezing cold, lobby coffee was empty two days in a row at 7am. It just seemed the hotel was struggling with attentive staff during a peak busy time.

The Sebastian - best in Vail.

Great service with a good room.
Pros:

Have seen a number of reviews about how poor the service was, how the place is looking rundown, and other negative comments. Not our experience! We found the staff to be very helpful. Our stay was in a Plaza King room and it was in great shape. As we were there to ski, my wife and I love the Base Camp and the service provided there. It is so nice to walk over and have your gear right at the base of the gondola and to have warm boots ready for the slopes. This was our second visit to the Sebastian, previously we had a condo. Staying in the hotel side, we had breakfast in the lower level room which would have been a rather pricey additional expense, $25- $30 per person, but was included in our room rate. The desk clerk did mention that breakfast is NOT always included so watch how you book your reservation! If I could knock a 1/2 star off, it would be that their website isn't clear about what's included in your reservation and that some things, like the DVD player, were not in the room as listed on the web page. Sadly, this has not been a great snow year in Colorado in general but the skiing held up and we managed a few days of good turns on the mountain.

Highs and Lows
Pros:

Our stay had a mix of positives and disappointments.

Unfortunately, breakfast was very slow, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold. The overall setup felt highly disorganized. There were plenty of staff members present, but it didn’t seem like there was clear direction or coordination. The bathroom was quite small, and the room itself felt aged and in need of some updating.

That said, the location is fantastic and very convenient. Everyone we encountered was kind and pleasant. What truly stood out, however, was the service team — from the concierge and bell staff to the front desk. And a very special mention to Robert. He took the time to really listen and made us feel important and supported. It wasn’t about the dollars — it was about the warmth. And he truly has it.

Thank you to the staff, and especially to Robert, for making a difference in our experience.

Don't go!!
Pros:

I had a deeply disappointing stay at The Sebastian Hotel. Room service was a mess—every hot item arrived cold, and the cold dishes were somehow warm and unappetizing. It felt careless and unacceptable for a property that presents itself as upscale. The staff’s attitude seemed to revolve around saying “no” rather than solving problems. During my spa treatment, there was constant noise that ruined any chance of relaxation. To make matters worse, the shower water had only one setting scorching hot. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and far below expectations. I would not return.

Pros:

They were able to get us early access to the room and staff were friendly.

Cons:

Cost of valet was not included in the room rate and the hotel does not tell you up front. $62/day when you can get vail village parking largely for free… all in all didn’t feel like there were any perks other than location for the $1000+/night rate. Have to pay to use basic spa facilities as well.

My stay was disappointing — high cost for limited value and poor service.
Pros:

I really liked the location and the spacious room.

Cons:

When I arrived, I had a poor reception. I drive an electric car and couldn’t park it because the hotel only offers valet service, and my car key is on my phone. The hotel should have a reserved space for cars that cannot be parked by someone else. The breakfast food was average, but the cost was exorbitant and not worth it. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again — the price is too high for what it offers, and the treatment I received was disappointing.
