Lovely Inn. We stayed in the snuggey room which was perfect for our 4 night stay. Spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Lovely decking and garden where you can sit and have continental breakfast provided. Friendly hosts. Ideal position to explore Newport on foot. Would highly recommend.
My favorite place in Newport! Great location, peaceful garden, great staff, beautiful rooms, breakfast with the best pastries. We stayed in 2 different rooms which were both beautiful, very clean with clean bedding, robes and towels. Nicely decorated rooms, also nicely decorated common areas. If you are looking for a decent accommodation in Newport, this is the place. We loved it and will be back!

Everything about the property is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. The house itself is beautifully maintained. The backyard is wonderful and the location is perfect for walking in town.
Nothing not to like. Maybe a few choices in the morning for savory bakery items and juices.

Charming and well-run
We visited the Marshall Slocum Inn for Memorial Day Weekend 2026 and had a great stay, the weather wasn't perfect but the Inn was everything and more than we needed! Mark one of the innkeepers met us at check-in and gave us so much information in the area with suggestions from food to what to see, We stayed in the Snuggery Room which was comfy and clean including the spiral staircase which led to the bathroom. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Great location, very nice and clean rooms, nice and big bathroom with robes and towels, beautifully decorated room and shared areas, big and peaceful garden, great staff, breakfast with yummy pastries and good coffee all day.
