Hanaholmen turned out to be the perfect Nordic retreat.
It’s rare to find a place where everything comes together so naturally:
- the sea right outside the hotel
- a private pier with direct access to the water
- an amazing sauna and indoor pool
- silence, pine trees, rocks, and that unique Finnish coastal atmosphere
- calm Scandinavian architecture without unnecessary luxury
- the feeling of being close to Helsinki while still completely disconnected from the city
One of the highlights was stepping out of the hot sauna straight into the cold sea, then sitting quietly and watching the water in complete peace. After visiting Porkkalanniemi and Linlo, Hanaholmen felt like the perfect continuation of the whole Finnish weekend experience.
The breakfast was exceptional. Not just a standard hotel buffet, but genuinely high quality and beautifully presented. The smoothie bar was a fantastic touch, the bacon was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel breakfast, and the Karelian pies were absolutely perfect. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and very Scandinavian in the best possible way.
This is one of those rare places that genuinely leaves you feeling recharged.
Definitely one of my favorite places in Finland now.
Nothing. Everything exceeded my expectations.
The hotel was located in a very beautiful place, yet still so close to the city center. I liked that the hotel building itself was already an attraction—there was art both outside and inside. I really liked the restaurant as well. We will definitely come back.
Ihana ympäristö, ilmainen parkki, erittäin hyvä aamupala, paikka henkii arvokkuutta, taidetta, minijääkaappi huoneessa, hyvä sänky, uima-allas ja sauna käytössä illalla ja aamulla 😊

Arkitekturen och konsten ger guldkant.
Amazing location, beautifully preserved 70s gem, full of art, breathtaking view over the Baltic, refined food and excellent service. The pool and sauna were definitely the icing on the cake!
Nothing, it was just perfect!
