Great Break
Pros:

Staff so helpful and friendly. From Becca, the co ordinator to John , the restaurant manager and all the staff. Breakfast was fantastic, a full Scottish, fresh melon, yogurt, whatever you required. The evening meal was great, plenty of choice. Bed so comfortable. Wonderful stay. Will be coming again!

Very good food
Pros:

Perfect dinner and breakfast, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, bathroom was clean. I enjoyed my stay.

Pros:

Staff were fantastic, breakfast amazing selection and dinner was good. Bed was comfortable and room was huge.

Cons:

Shower had quite a high step up to get into it and no grab rails to help which was an issue as we both have mobility issues.

Fabulous hotel, wonderful staff team were fantastic
Pros:

I stayed at the IHG Dumfries for three nights with a client I was assisting on holiday. Very comfortable and spacious, spacious well - equipped rooms in a handsome red sandstone building set in beautiful grounds.

The quality of the food was superb and we dined there for 3 nights. Exceptional satanfard and great service.

The staff team were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming and always willing to help. I had to visit A+E in my third day and the staff team looked after my client wonderfully well until I returned.

Special thanks to Katie and Keana on reception who looked after my client so well, to JD, Peter, Nicholas, Salvio and Martina at the excellent bar and restaurant, wonderful service. Also to James for the wake up call!. Wonderful 10/10 experience!

Wonderful stay
Pros:

Great hotel in lovely surroundings . Staff very attentive and looked after us well. Breakfast was really good and would highly recommend as a base to explore Dumfriesshire and beyond.

A holiday in a Holiday Inn
Pros:

A old house with a modern annex set in the grounds of the Crichton estate, which has its own church. Unfortunately only used for weddings and a scheduled service as indicated.
Staff courteous and helpful, food hot and substantial.

Not what we expected
Pros:

The picture of the main building was an empty shell. Only the main floor was in use for the restaurant and bar. The top 2 floor are not in use. Although the staff advised they are renovating the first floor and then the 2nd and 3rd. The actual hotel is built into the back of the building. It is standard modern room with no complaints but the outside of this building clashes with the historic look of the main building. Staff was friendly. The hotel is out of the way most guest seemed to be golfers as there is a golf club across the road.

Tolles Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis bei sehr guter Qualität
Pros:

Tolles großes Zimmer mit ebenso großem Bad und Dusche. Sehr nettes Personal, sowohl am Empfang als auch im Restaurant. Dieses befindet sich im alten sehr stilvollen Teil des Gebäudes und serviert prima Gerichte und Menüs, es wird dort auch das umfangreiche Frühstücksbuffet serviert. Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis ist top, wir hatten für unsere Zwischenübernachtung Halbpension gebucht, nur zu empfehlen. Hotel liegt in einem großen Parkgelände mit mehreren alten Gebäuden (Uni und Kirche).

Cons:

Das einzige leicht störende war, dass das Hotel auch als Tagungsort und für Gruppenreisen genutzt wird, deshalb war relativ viel los sowohl am Abend als auch Morgens.

Stains on carpet and dressing table chair, carpet in one corner not good.

Cons:

We arrived and was given room number 7, which was very nice but the aerial on the tv wasn’t working so was moved to number 15 which was not as nice.
