My great grandfather was resident at the Crichton in 1910-1927. Our stay was more enjoyable!!!
Pros:

Room was excellent and spacious
Parking on site
Bar and dinner service

Cons:

Breakfast let the side down : either a fry-up or toast !
Croissants and other pastries burned to a cinder straight from the kitchen - staff didn't seem to care, and feeble excuse given about the machine used to heat the croissants not working properly. Not good enough for this quality of hotel.

An excellent base to explore Dumfries and Galloway
Pros:

The staff were lovely and very helpful
The location is perfect for Crichton parkrun and Crichton Estate was a delight
