Accomodatie, behulpzaamheid medewerkers en maaltijden zijn op zich voortreffelijk, maar er is ook een groot minpunt, zie hieronder.
Mijn totaalscore is laag. Reden: vlak onder mijn kamer trad 'savonds een muziekband op met onvoorstelbaar veel herrie. En de hele dag was er binnen een storend soort supermarktmuziek.

We stayed as a family of three (two adults and one child) in a premium sea-facing room. From the moment we walked into reception, the staff were brilliant.
We’ve been fortunate to stay in a number of amazing 5* hotels around the world and the service by the team at the Barceló Cabo de Gata was right up there as some of the best examples of hospitality that we have received .
From the moment we arrived service was world class. The man who checked us in remembered our name for the whole stay. On our last morning I went to confirm the check-out time, and he gave me the details, used my name, and asked whether we’d enjoyed our stay.
The lobby bar was the same. The staff there remembered what we liked to drink, and everything on offer was a well-regarded brand rather than an unknown substitute.
We had breakfast in the premium restaurant (Arrozante) every morning. On the first day I ordered an espresso, and after that it just turned up each day without my asking.
The room was spacious, bright and spotless, with a great sea view. As parents, we liked that the pool was fenced off when it was closed. There was none of the usual scramble for sun loungers either. People were respectful, and guests would clear their own towels off a lounger when they weren’t using it for a while, so you could always find a spot.
The inclusion of a late night pool party on the entertainment agenda was a real winner for our son and was one of those “memory making” moments that you hope for when on a family holiday.
Just outside the main hotel there’s a lovely beach with a lifeguard station, which was reassuring with a child.
We used the spa every day during the set family time, which was a nice way to wind down together.
The hotel had a modern feel and clearly has been renovated from an older building - showing some signs of age in areas such as the lifts, and tiles missing around the pool edges however the hotel was spotless throughout and only a short drive from the airport.
